Re: Let's Play Summon Night - Swordcraft Story

Yup, that's the plan.

XD Sugar... XD

Yeah, focus! Let's go kick Chave's butt. Oh, no, wait. Scratch that, Mom's here. Gotta listen to her.

Yup, figured she'd know Sugar already.

Same Guardian as your Dad's, remember Pratty? Wait... Why is Sugar so quiet all of a sudden?

Derail successful!

Not sure if better or worse... Pratty uses handwave! It's interrupted by Sugar!

Oh, yeah. Tournament. Match. Lateness. Better focus.

Well, she likes Sugar at least. But what's up with Sugar not being hyper?

Yup, better ask.

Oh dear...

Why?

Oh boy... This is getting awkward...

Well, wife, for starters. I'm pretty sure that's what she means, you know?

Aaaand she doesn't want to talk about it.

Move on Pratty, let it go for now. Awkwardness levels are on the rise.

Yup. That's more like it. Now, let's focus on this Chaves fellow. But first, let's take our time to talk to every. Single. Person. In town because, well, we're not supposed to be at a match right now anyway.

Wait, matches? Didn't Sanary...

Loot! Sorry Sanary, you gave us something better than a measly Iron Ore!
Now we go after Chaves. But before that, we should have a look at the dungeon.

And Sugar learns a new spell from all the stabbing for materials.

Well, guess we can only go down to the 3rd floor right now... Oh well. Green glowy thingy is the teleporter. They allow easier access to the floors bellow, provided you've reached said floors once and whacked it into activity with your trusty hammer.

Now we're back at the workshop with the stuff from these floors and finally make that spear from last time. And then talk to Bron for...

Another Drill! Not like I crafted the one we got from the cat family, but hey. Still, we need more materials, so back to the dungeon it is.

And important things happen. That's a special enemy. They're more or less rare, and always drop Mystic Ores. Not too hard to fight, and only drop 1 Ore, but the drop is guaranteed. Trust me when I say we'll need lots of that stuff. But for now, Sugar got a new spell.

Craft Drill, talk to Bron. Need moar materials! I have three weapons now, plenty for filling the equipment screen... But nooooo Gotta Craft 'em All.

Knuckles crafted. Talk to Bron. And of course, the axe needs even more stuff than the other weapons needed. Chaves? What Chaves? Back to the dungeon it is!

Craft axe. Talk to Bron. Oh... No more weapons?
Ok, so, I didn't craft the Drill or the Axe we got from talking to people. I'll just hold back on that because they'll need more materials and by now I already spent a good chunk of the day breaking crates and barrels in the tiny low-level area we have. One weapon of each kind seems like a good start. Now we go bash some heads in the tournament!

Welp. Relevant Tournament Rule: Only one weapon may be used by contestant. Victory can be achieved by either knocking the opponent out or breaking his weapon. Of course, if Pratty's weapon breaks, you'd normally be allowed to keep fighting with the hammer, but since the rules apply both ways, if her weapon breaks she loses all the same in these fights.
Out of the five, since weapon-breaking is a valid strategy, let's go with the Drill.

Let's go with yes.
Let's... Explain stuff first...

That technique is only rewarded if you win by breaking your opponent's weapon, and it's always the technique for the weapon they used. So, in this case, it's Chaves' Sword. Or The Slab of Metal That Weighs More Than An Battleaxe. XD So, in that sense, it's probably a good idea to go for weapon-breaking rather than just knocking out the human enemies, and the Drill is great at that.
[Also, sorry for the easy fight I really avoided fighting in the dungeon while hunting for materials. Running from fights and sticking to breaking crates for the drops. But I forgot just how weak Chaves is and even by avoiding most level grinding, I was still way above his grade. Things will probably balance out in the future though, he's easy just for the sake of being the first boss.]

No Pratty. You didn't win. You ran a bulldozer over the guy.

Sugar... XD Yeah, she's got the right idea. Shoving a Drill into your opponent's face could totally be called magnificent, if looked at from a certain angle.

Uh... Sorry big guy. I know you feel upset but the sheer unfairness but, hey, someone had to win.

Hey, we have video evidence there. She simply punched a hole through your sword man. Sugar never even showed her face.

Oh, yeah right. Let the referee talk. He saw what happened.

You still talking? >_<

Way to go, master Sakuro. I guess we're done here, after all, it's already...

Night time!

"Managed to win"
Oh well, at least Bron came by to talk for a bit.

One down... How many to go? I mean, they never released a bracket list or anything... How many matches there are? Oh, who cares. We can deal with this later.

That is the question.
So guys, night walk time. Sugar or Sanary?
[Disclaimer: I played the game before, but I didn't do every single night walk option so don't ask me which one will be cooler/funnier.
