Whoa whooooa already? How have you managed that when I haven't even posted the audio yet?

I appreciate your enthusiasm, Gen, but we all need to work to the tone and pitch of the same audio file and we don't HAVE that file yet because I'm slow and stuck on nano and haven't done it yet, you're just going to end up having to do this again.

Anyway sorry guys, I'm getting to it. Stuff keeps happening.

Okay, I know I'm being a pest here guys, sorry. Will have some kind of audio for you guys asap, also looking at perhaps a rough rewrite of the original song. There are still bits of it that just don't quite work.

Before we begin, please note these ARE NOT THE FINAL LYRICS, so please do NOT send me recordings yet. This is just a badly done demo by me so you can get a rough idea of how the new track might sound.

Right. Now we’ve gotten that out of the way, down to business.

There are two tracks linked below. The first version is similar to the original, but with an additional layer of harmonies. Said harmonies have been checked by my awesome Beta Tester and Musical Advisor whose identity shall remain a closely guarded secret (well, a closely guarded secret until you listen to the tracks, at which point you hear me say their name. So not really a secret at all, then. PS: Go tell said person how cool they are ) This means more than one person can be singing lines at the same time which should, theoretically, mean more people can get involved. You'll notice I said theoretically.

The second version, however, does something a bit different: it substitutes the six spoken parody lines in the middle (you know, the ‘can we please stay on topic’ line, and ‘I think Don Quixote just attacked a bus’ parts. I think that’s called the ‘Bridge’) for an alternate melody.

I’m going to take a vote here. Would you rather keep the original with the added harmonies, or give the new, less specific version a shot? If you can, some pros and cons of each version would be awesome, so I can list them up before we decide what to go for.

I would also like to know who amongst you is especially interested in doing the harmony parts of the track, as they are somewhat more vocally challenging (I.e. complicated, weirdly placed and gosh darn it, they're fast). Once again, I apologise for not knowing what the fudge I am doing.

I'm fine with either one, really, although I'd like to if possible get the lyrics to both versions? When you have the harmony parts it gets hard to hear one or the other unless you're concentrating, although reading the lyrics can help with that, at least for me.

I'd be up for singing harmony. I have a slight preference for the second version, just because it's something different.

I'm leaning toward the second one as well, although I'd suggest tweaking the lyrics a bit so they fit the rhythm of the section better. And I'm up for singing whatever (I'm more comfortable on melody usually but I can learn harmony parts).

I'm good with either one, really.

Don't worry about the lyrics, guys, as said the ones we have are literally place holders. Going to work on some more suitable ones over the next few days. Please, feel free to make any suggestions you would like.

We're looking at probably using the alternative Bridge version, unless anyone has any objections. I don't mind, but I think it would be kid of sad to lose those fun spoken lines in the middle so if anyone has alternative suggestions for that, (like, alternate lines that are more currently relevant) please say so.

Also, if there's anybody who would like to sing with anyone in particular because you think you can harmonize well together or just want the same lines, have a chat with each other, and we can try and make that happen.
