Shameless self-promotion time!

I feel justified, since this idea was sort of born in the chatroom... I have created a blog for the specific purpose of taking real questions about real things like science and history, and writing fictional answers to them that are SO wrong that they're really obvious lies, really easy to verify as being untrue. I hope/think it will be fun for everybody!

I am super excited to get serious questions from people so that I can start trying to regularly blog completely false answers. So please feel free to send me questions to answer ridiculously!

The blog is called Factually Deficient, because that is a politically-correct term for what all my answers there will be.

I love the etymology of names, but the whole thing was kinda dampened for me when I discovered my name, Avery, doesn't really have a meaning of its own but is a diminutive of Alberich or Alfred, which mean 'elf power' and 'elf counsel' respectively. Not that I dislike elves, they're pretty cool, but I want an actual meaning. I blame my dad - Avery was the only name for me he actually liked, despite the dozens of other names that Mom threw at him.

Dude, Avery is actually one of my favourite names, cause it's in the name of a character I think is badass. And also now, Isla. :3

I read somewhere that it's meant to mean 'courage' though... Then again I read that in one of those cutesy baby books and you know how they like to give names different meanings for whatever reason.

I've heard both "fortunate one" and "young one" attributed to my name. So really the only consensus the to meanings have is that I am one person not two, which is a mild relief.
