So I've decided to also start a thing on Factually Deficient where, once a month, I tell a bunch of lies about a book I like. (I am going to only write about books I like, so none of the lies are accidentally mean-spirited.)

I'm starting off with the classic Canadian novel Barometer Rising! Feel free to read the blog if you want to know what the book is not about.

I am all in favor of this new Factually Deficient book segment. It's reminiscent of Kris Straub's Saw It For You, where he makes up lies about movies.

The problem is I'd much rather read a book about scientists trying to stop a barometer containing important information from hitting the ozone than I am about the actual content of the story

Oh but the actual story was really great too. It's got romance and family drama and HISTORICALLY ACCURATE EXPLOSIONS.

It was a pivotal moment in Canadian history! If we didn't get it accurate, that would be TERRIBLE!
Or was that a question for the blog? because that can totally be a question for the blog.

Speaking of the blog, this week I wrote about dinosaurs.

This week I went back and gave a few short answers to a bunch of questions that I hadn't specifically addressed but that had sort of been covered with other posts I've made because a) this is the half-year anniversary of Factually Deficient!!! and b) I don't want people to feel left out.

Here is the blog post, which includes short answers to questions from Tohr and Isla, and here is the link to the Lies About Books post I made last night, about Ender's Game.

Qara at first I was all "Hey don't imply that antibiotics work for colds because THEY DON'T" but then I remembered that your blog is all lies so any erroneous implication must be intentional and then I felt silly for getting worked up over a lie in a blog made out of lies.

(I wrote the antibiotics sentence, sat back and thought "Hang on, colds are viruses and therefore antibiotics are irrelevant." Then I thought, "Yes. This is Factually Deficient, to which research and accuracy are antithetical." So I left it. But I apologize for upsetting you with that suggestion.)
