And by animations I mean stuff like this. I'm not nearly THAT good, but I can do quite a bit, and I should have all the animations and effects I used to use stored around here somewhere...

That would be really fun, but I am only making individual sprites for each player. To do something like this I would need to make anywhere from 40-80 sprites per character (maybe more! Essentially, I'd be making a full sprite sheet). While doable, it would take a very long time to give you the resources to make something even remotely close to the scale of that video. I would need a lot of motivation, time, and probably some money too (Something of which I refuse to ask of you) :(

That said, I wouldn't mind making a some extra sprites for a few of these characters in the future, if you want to make some short .gif animations with them.
If you ever need to ask the questions "Am I needed? Should I help them?" The answer is always yes. Always.

Once the base sprites are created, it's less troublesome and more simply time consuming to finish out a sprite sheet by modifying what is already there. I could do so myself if I had the time on my hands. The actual amount of sprite animation sets used in that video is rather small. They just are put together in a very clever manner, utilizing things like camera shaking and overlayed animations such as explosions to hide it, plus segments like those where the fighters in question are going too fast to see and all that remains is the explosion animation left behind.

To Mr. Pixelmage, as well as Mr. S_o_S, I highly recommend switching your present avatars/icons to the profiles given, be they your sprites or your actual images. No sense in letting them go to waste-ish-ness.
Apparently, slightly less weird than most of you.

Added sprites and pictures to the OP (couldn't find SoS's picture in the thread though, so Scarab you should add it when you get the chance)

You're on the list after Jeroic, Dryu, better start thinking about your design ;)

Dunno if I should. I haven't been participating in the Coffee Room's madness, so it's not like I have a generally accepted appearance and a Weapon Of Choice.

Well it's not meant to be an entirely serious thing, and isn't REALLY related to the coffee room, just peoples personas, really, they can be anything you like.

Besides you've been on the list for weeks, I'd hate for you to feel you had to back out. Send me your descriptions and ideas via PM when you have 'em. :D

Dude, this is completely unrelated to the coffee room :3, just think up whatever you want it to be.

...Now I'm considering substituting/supplimenting the picture I was planning on sending for reference with one or both of my self-MoCs. Granted, they'd be kinda hard to draw, what with all the detail and stuff that comes with their builds, but I'm already expecting some design liberties to be taken, so whatever. *shrug* But I'm getting ahead of myself. I'll just sit down and wait until I'm next on the list, I guess.
So, apparently I'm the sanest madman this side of the international date line. Seems legit.

After I've done with Genndy, Dryu and Jeroic, there will be a brief pause in sketching while I get the existing drawings up to the flat colours level. This shouldn't take too long (derp).

Then I'll go back to creative sketching and the next on the list after it resumes will be Sicon and Eli.

Aaaaaand yeah, these two were surprisingly hard to do, probably because this time I actually KNEW what the people I was drawing looked like, and couldn't take the same kind of leeway I could with everyone else. Adell is also skipping the quee since I kinda spontaneously decided that I was going to let whoever faced Cthulhu do that... and then it was Adell, who isn't even on the list because we're BOTH working on this project... but there you have it, here he is anyway, I'm sure nobody will object :P

Jeroic (moustaches are tricky): Image
Adell (I'll be honest with ya, Adell, no idea where those headphones keep coming from): Image

Also included here is my THIRD attempt at Guyshane (I've been struggling a bit to get him how I want him to look, but I do believe I've managed now. I hope you like it, Guyshane.)

Surprise, I'm back! Do I get a candy? ...Or a spot at the bottom of the list? ...Perhaps both? *yips* :D
The voices in my head tell me that we saved the world. However, they also told me that George Clooney's face is on the dollar bill, so... meh. The voices are more fun, anyway.

I talked to Scarab for a while about how your sword wasn't really a katana. I knew what it was, but I just couldn't think of it. You are now the proud owner of a Chinese Dao longsword, with a custom modified hilt that is only one hand length long. Scarab offered to change it if you wished, and I supplied info so that she can fix it. Of course, if you are happy with the way it is now, that's fine too.
