Watch the Footage

So, counterintuitively, every time I sang with the music in the background, I went off-key, but hit it to my satisfaction when I sang acapella (well, not THAT counterintuitive; after all, I'm singing on a different key from the guy in the song because his doesn't work with my range). But I need the song playing to know the timing between the verses.

So instead I recorded myself singing each verse as a separate clip, and another one for my one line. (I only recorded the chorus once, and wasn't able to sync the "The Wall Won't Fall" over it without killing the audio-- if you want me to record it again or try something else, Bonsus, just let me know.)

Also, I had breakfast between recording the first verse and the rest of them, which means milk, so rather than sound bad failing to hit the high notes, I harmonized for them instead. Again, if this is a problem, let me know, and I'll try to re-record the next time I get the chance.

I will, but it sounds pretty damn good with what I've got (I'd really rather want to give you the line about the badass lime at this point.)

I think it's fine leaving even outdated lines as-is (after all, Medusa's been turned back but that doesn't change Eye of the Troper; our spam problem's been solved but we're not rewriting Day the Spambots Died). BUT if you want to update the lyrics, I offer:

Just looked at the lyrics. Coming from someone who occasionally brainstorms songs in his spare time... Eh, don't really like it too much. Too many syllables in certain lines, the rhymes are off, the words themselves read kind of awkwardly... :| Sorry for the harshness, but still- my opinion.

Eh, so I was testing it out, I only did the 2nd verse. Wasn't able to do the rest cos of intermittent drilling, so on Qara's advice, here's the 2nd verse. Note: I'm out of sync with the timing, I'm not familiar with the song. At all.

WHEW. So, I just spent the past few hours fiddling around with the recording. FINALLY DONE! This duet is the result. I swear it sounded better in real life, but our recording equipment is CRAP. As in nonexistent. We just used an old headset mike. I'm the backup singer with the deeper voice because Mimsy is the one who actually can sing. I cannot TELL you how annoying it was to time those "THE WALL WON'T FALL"s correctly. I had to re-record like eighteen times!

Thank goodness Scarab only had her voice on the left channel though, or I wouldn't have been able to nab the background music from her file...

And finally, as for why we added the stuff at the beginning and the end, I blame Mimsy. He is nuts. So, pretty much just for the lulz.

Oh, and YES, that is ME singing Mr. A's line.

I'll make and upload a version without the music in the background for integration into the completed work tomorrow when I wake up. Until then, night all.

2. Your middle line sounds like LJS.
3. The Stinger is lolz, and your voice in it reminds me of someone, but I can't tell who.

I honestly have no idea why I sung the Mr. A line in LK's Marik voice. We did that as a joke during a practice recording and then Mimsy insisted I throw it in, so...

Also, why am I not surprised that I totally brainhaxxed what your voice sounds like? (Your speaking voice, anyway. Your singing voice sounds deeper than I expected, but... I have said that to EVERY SINGLE PERSON so far, so I think it's no longer a valid objection/comment.

Agora that is GREAT Got you downloaded, feel free to do more if you so wish. The rest of the song is linked at the start if you need to listen a few times.

Sicon, Mimsy... that. is. Fan. Freaking. TASTIC. You both have GREAT voices, and that bit at the beginning and the end... we can use that in the final version right? It'd make a brilliant opener and ending!

A couple of us have actually been discussing putting together an album of everyone’s stuff, since there are a couple of extra music projects at work around the edges. And frankly, I want to keep you two’s duet as a separate file as well...
