Okay I have to ask were the giants around before the island reappeared or did they show up once the island did?

No one knows, seeing as the island was covered in mist and no word ever came out of it up till now. I suppose you could ask the giants, but... I don't think they would answer.

I will point out, this is going to be more complex than many of the RPGs on this site. Jester, Mimsy and I are going to be a GM team, and only Mimsy has any experience at all. I'm making organization up as I go from my experience as an MMO gamer, but we are still dealing with a HUGE world here, and three distinct factions. There will be a lot of player choice involved in this thing; we are trying to fit in as much as possible. It will be up to you to decide how things go. Make mistakes and bad things can happen. Act wisely and you will be rewarded. It's up to you to choose the path of your nations. Whether to fight or make a truce, when and if you attack other nations, etc.

My opening post will give a lot of backstory about the legend of the island and stuff like that.

From what I understand as me and Sicon have discussed, we will not have order when having normal settings but we will post in order during combat.

Yes, I'm trying out a new style of post control. Post order and frequency does not matter outside of combat as long as there are no double posts. This makes interaction easier and helps stop Mimsy-style doorstoppers when not really needed. There will be a post order in combat situations, and every combat situation will begin with a notice of the post order. Post order is subject to change between battles if Jester and I feel like it.

Also of note: SUBMISSIONS FOR CHARACTERS WILL NOT BE STOPPED ONCE THE RPG BEGINS. Due to how Jester has set this up, we can accept new characters at any time and seamlessly integrate them into the plot. So if anyone sees this going and thinks "Wow, I wish I had joined that!" it's not too late!

So, two variables, one Sparton, and one Athenon. So far so good. Who is up next?

Welcome to the RPG, JR. In reference to your plan to leave for Unigarond, don't worry. We begin as an expedition from each nation sets out. Since you start with Olympion, you will be coming with the missionary force to explore the island. It's entirely possible to wander off alone, but keep in mind that there are some very nasty things on that continent, and you do NOT want to face them alone.

I would like to note something involving the Start out nation on Character sheets

If you, for example, put Olympion as your star out nation, you will be placed in whichever scene most of the armies are located in, not the complete country itself.

Thanks

Fair enough. I can work with that.

Holy crap, Victin's character is broken. Dude, you might want some balancing work on that. As it is now, you essentially have the ability to negate and then COPY every power ever, complete immunity to all forms of attack, super-class physical reinforcement, self-replenishing energy, and the ability to, say, shut down a target's brain neurons instantly, or perhaps instantly disintegrate someone with gamma rays which, being light, would obviously move far too fast to dodge, block, or otherwise save yourself from. And that doesn't even take into consideration the things you could do if your "Manipulation of Energy" extends to concepts. But even without concept manipulation, you're still firmly in Tier 3, ranking about as high as most physical god characters...

Except my character is lazy, and thus not brilliant. He can't do much other than hitting you hard, and some magic beams here and there. His main battle style is "taking" a lot of damage, the stored energy kicks in and superstrenght wins. And using his light manipulation, he creates a "bullet", and then he shoots, giving time to dodge. I'm pretty sure he doesn't know how brains work, so he won't even notice he could shut a brain off. He is a big waste of all the power he has. Actually I can't see him doing anything other than giving himself strenght and speed, and trying to copy the power of a strong enemy (like yours, for example). He does have a trick or two in his sleeves for mid-classed enemies (a few spells he learned from his friends).

That still doesn't change the fact that, being immune to both magical and kinetic energy, you are literally invulnerable, and getting hit only serves to further power you up.

Also, he probably wouldn't be able to copy Neiross' power very effectively based on experiencing it, since it revolves entirely around his swords due to him being too frickin' lazy to learn magic properly. XD

The powers will hit him. He can only convert kinect energy (or whatever other kind of impact energy can exists) instantly, and yet a very strong hit would hurt him, albeit his own body would take it normally. Other kinds of magic still work onto him, but depending on how they work he can null them or not (as a walking anti-magic field, what is an acceptable power). Swords, spears, arrows, etc. can still pierce and hurt him. But if you have a problem, I think I could explicitily nerf him to being able to do what I think he can.

FOR THE RECORD:

Trying to nerf your character by saying that he's "too lazy" to do whatever is not a proper way of balancing.

Thank you.

Unless you're Neiross, because then it means that you were literally too lazy to actually learn your otherwise game breaker magic properly enough to actually use it. XD And that's why I love playing as him.

But as long as you're holding your swords you have like a five metres ball of godhood >_>

Actually, so long as I'm holding both my swords, I can cause explosions of compression on top of a target area, but only after about a one second delay - making dodging possible - although I still have defense. If I'm holding Colada, then I have a five meter radius of implacable-man-ness, but can't really actually do much in the way of attacking without leaving myself massively open. If I'm holding Tizona, then I get massively destructive wind attacks, but nothing in the way of defense.

The thing is, Neiross will probably normally use just a normal, featureless sword, and only draw his actual magic swords when he gets particularly hard-pressed by or tired of something. Why? Because he's lazy. =P Anyway, don't expect him to use both swords except maybe under one or two particular circumstances, and one of them is just in the backstory.

Also, your anti-magic would only have a limited effect, since it's explicitly stated to be "energy absorption" from kinetic energy. So, unless I actively assault you with my air shield, you wouldn't be able to nullify it any more than you'd be able to nullify the existence of a nearby wall. So, basically, so long as I just maintain it in shield form, I can keep it from being nullified. =P

But yet, lasers! And vacuum! And I can absorb energy (any kind), store it and turn it into kinect energy. At short range, so I'd just walk towards you. Wait, this isn't Goliath, I'd simply move insanely fast towards you.

Well, even if you could drain potential energy, you still wouldn't be able to do much, considering the barrier is sustained by kinetic energy, but only around Neiross on the inside, which would make your contact magic rather... difficult.

Lasers would be deflected by the condensed particulate matter in the air around me. Vacuums would be a problem, but Neiross' peerless control with Colada would probably allow him to maintain his barrier despite them.

Anyway, you're not really helping your case here. XD

Oh, I just remembered: I actually showed Jester my sheet before posting it there. He said it was okay.
