I don't know how to write a character that's actually passed out and unconscious. But hey, challenge accepted. XD

I'll write up the next part of Mokou's arc pronto. Once the "Answers" post is up, all that's left is the finale. Of course, that might take some time, too. >.> Sorry for dragging this out so much. I'll hurry to complete it as quickly as possible.

Uh, Mokou's still dealing with strange people with eye powers. I should have the explanation for what's been going on with the magic show up soon, it's just I've had FC and finals preparation to deal with. Just give me a bit of time here.

I don't think Sicon's done, either, also. Just a heads-up.

You said this on Jan 14, so 4 months ago....

Yeah, and I am skipping you guys. The entire game has been frozen in wait. So get it done like by Friday or *shrugs* don't. You have had plenty of time to either finish it or drop out of the game.

"tehspamlord: Great.
tehspamlord: Apparently, Xana's kicking us from RoH.
tehspamlord: Whatever. I don't even care anymore.
Sicon112 is now Online.
Sicon112: Tell him one bloody day
Sicon112: One goddamn day
Sicon112: In quite literally ONE day I will be writing for RoH. I have told him this. I jave told others this. I have told others to tell him this.
Sicon112: I am sick of people deciding deadlines are due in the middle of my finals.
Sicon112: Make sure he gets that message
Sicon112: Can you do that?"

And there you have it.

Pardon me for stepping in, but I think Xana said you had until Friday.

Last I checked, that's two days away. So.... I don't see the problem here.

Right, I'm having a massive allergic reaction now that I'm back here, and my notes have mysteriously friggin vanished, so I'm going to have to rewrite them from memory. My eyeballs feel like exploding out of my skull, which I assure you is quite a pleasant feeling, and said skull is currently staging a rebellion itself, and that also hurts. I get that it's been way behind, and now that I'm on vacation I will post ASAP, but if the meds I'm going to take soon won't kick in, I may be going to bed early today. If I can recover my note remnants from my memories, I should be able to finish the quest-thingy with one final post, which ought to be done tonight/tomorrow afternoon sometime.

That's about all I got.

I understand the pain of an allergic reaction and how much it sucks, and despite my earlier insistence that it be done by Friday since you both recognize that it has been a long time and have a promise to get it done soon I will extend it till Sunday to see if that helps.

But now I guess I am adding a new rule, no multipost quests, since its apparently that some of the players do need lines to draw in or else the entire thing freezes.

So than this is my message basically saying that for now Rise of the Age Heroes is going into full shutdown mode. This has been a long time coming with the huge break just adding onto it. I don't really feel as if I have a huge hold over the story as it is right now, with elements and organizations that I had never planned for entering in and making enough of a push to where I can see everything flying off the rails later on. This is my fault, not your guys. I should have acted faster as a GM and worked with players to help tone down these problems so they wouldn't rise up in the first place.

Thanks to all the players and people who have read through the thread. Sorry I couldn't give you a better game to play.

The game was great as it lasted, and the universe you created seems vast and vastly interesting. Your actions were all done with the best of intent, you tried to do your function as a GM and make sure we all had fun. Thank you for the game you have created.

Well, whether he leaves or not, I'm going to keep writing. I like Procyon, and writing him is entertaining. The other characters in this are also fun, and make a wonderfully dysfunctional group together, so I'm just going to do stuff. Don't know what yet, and given Procyon's asshole status and the lack of gods written by the GM to tell him off, it probably won't be saving the world, at least intentionally. But I'll take him somewhere. Anyone who wants to join is free to do so.

First comes the completion of the fight he is in though. Then anyone who wants to join in can come pull Procyon's unconscious body out of the rubble before the authorities get him

I have to say this.

Firstly, thank you, Xana, for hosting the RP and creating this universe for us to move in. It has been an interesting time.

Secondly, Sicon, please. It has been eight months since your last post on the RoH game thread. You of all players have the least right to put on a cloak of self-righteousness and be angry that the RP is being shut down. It's on you. I will not stand to see anger being directed towards the GM who gave us this platform where it is undeserved.

To the best of my comprehension, the issue here is that what was intended to be a simple one-off sidequest has gone on to have a deeper plot of its own, which is not something that sidequests ought to be having unless specifically directed to be so. Turning the one small sidequest into something larger that spans multiple posts, in my opinion, was what Xana did not approve of. (Correct me if I am wrong here, Xana.)

Looking to my own sidequest with Endless, while it may have spanned several posts, my justification here is that it was two people not doing a single collaborative post but doing a back-and-forth. Even then, Endless and I likely should have found a time to put it together in one post, but we did not have the luxury of syncing up timezones. Comparatively, Mimsy's sidestory, despite being solo, has a greater post count than what Endless and I have done together, and is still not yet finished.

The depth involved in the sidequest can be disruptive, from the GM's point of view. Say, hypothetically, that Xana has a structure for the city in mind in terms of social hierarchy. Maybe he planned for the presence of mages to be minimal, but suddenly there are magic antagonists such as Nihilus, who are the results of magical experimentation. The city then becomes disrupted, from the GM's point of view, and this is invisible to us players because we rightly don't know his plans. The 'power level' of the city/region, for want of a better phrase, becomes messed up. While I account is as fair that we as players can add in our own factions and the like, we ought to check first with the GM whether such an organisation makes sense within his universe. Adding your own thing, then complaining when the GM objects is bad form. The onus is on you to provide the GM with enough information about your plot line, your ability to post in a timely fashion, so that he can plan around and take into account your plans and/or determine whether those plans are plausible in the setting.

Time is the other factor. As a GM, can you imagine how frustrated Xana must be, with all his plans and plots being put on hold simply because of what was originally intended to be a miniature diversion from the main plot to add a little variety into the story?

Lordxana0 on Jan 14 wrote:Everyone ready to advance the story? If not please finish up your missions so we can advance. Once everyone is finished please all take a post so you know where your character is resting for the night, the next day something big will happen for all new fun.

Xana had already given a lot of time allowance for the completion of quests. That was four months ago. Do not complain that he is being unfair, because he has been kind in the extreme. You say that you enjoy writing Procyon, Sicon, but when there's been no post for over half a year, that rings rather hollow.

Let me appeal to you as players, Sicon and Mimsy. I know you both enjoy writing long, complex and intricate plots. However, a role-playing game, particularly one on a forum, is more than just a personal game. Yes, you write because you enjoy it. But RPs involve other people as well; every player bears a responsibility to each other player to post within a reasonable timeframe, to leave space for the involvement of other characters where appropriate, to adhere to the GM's rules because in the end it is not so much our game but his. If you have an issue with a GM's ruling, and that issue is justified, then by all means bring it up. But spare the GM the vitriol he does not deserve. If you know that you are unable to get the post up within a reasonable amount of time due to real-life matters, inform the GM. If the timeframe you need is too long, then the GM reserves every right to skip your turn. Decision lies with the GM. At every single point of the game, the GM reserves the right to end the game.

Post what is appropriate. Breaking character limit doesn't make your post better. Having excessive length does not justify taking excessive time, because long posts have the tendency to turn people off from reading, and because other players are forced to wait for you. Causing the game to freeze, then raging when no more extra time is allowed? That's bad manners, and exceptionally wrong. You're playing among friends, so treat them with the respect they deserve.

All I'm asking is for you to respect roleplay etiquette. These are codes of conduct that you agree to by playing the GM's game. Xana does not deserve your anger. Nobody does. I admire the way both of you can craft together lengthy posts, and interesting descriptions as well as well-thought-out fight scenes. But what is happening here is unacceptable because you are faulting Xana for doing something that is not only well within his rights, but entirely appropriate to the situation. Accept it with good grace. Stubbornly continuing the RP after it has been declared closed is insulting to the GM, particularly when you didn't continue it while it was alive.

These points apply to all of us, and it is not my intention for either Sicon or Mimsy to feel victimised. These are things that we must abide by, or else risk miscommunication or worse. Thank you for taking the time to read this post, and thank you once more, Xana.
