Oh well... Ignore this. Nothing to see here. This is not me in panic because of a word switch in my post. :geek:

And by 8 I mean an hour and a half - I hate timezones... I don't even know if it's the same in Brazil as in Virginia...

I'm 1 hour ahead of you. 8 for you means 9 here. I used to hate this too, but since I don't really use any sort of online service from Brazil I got used to handling time zone differences.

I just know you are below us, so it wouldn't be a big difference. Not like Dryu in Russia. :D

But I'm off. See you at 8. Or 9. Or next week, whichever comes first.

^_^ OK, I believe you. Nice post there, Isla. It looks like your character is getting slightly used to Sabrac's ridiculous, over-the-top flames. Your narration made me chuckle.

I hoped it would. :D I took the opportunity to add to Kestral's background, give her some depth. And I'm pretty good at writing interactions, though I'll have few chances here. My favorite part in this post was the not-nearly-strong-enough whiskey. I would have her drinking nearly everybody under the table if I could. :D

Well, shortly I will begin haggling employment terms with a god. You guys should probably hope that the god thinks to add in a term that says "All of your allies must survive if at all possible" or else things will get rather unpleasant for you, because Sabrac will not give a crap at all. He will probably just manipulate you and the rest into troublesome situations to create Xanatos Gambits and traps for his targets.

Well, in my head-canon Kestral knows how to survive nigh-impossible situations, even if she isn't the most powerful mage. Plus there's still the shapeshifting ability that I've got under her sleeve - that'll be more useful than not.

Well, it IS a Xanatos Gambit. He pulls that kind of thing all the time, manipulating people into contact with his target to draw them into traps and setting it up so no matter whether they fail or succeed, his target is eliminated. He doesn't really enjoy fighting personally, though he has no real problems with it either, so if he can get it done with less work on his part, all well and good. If he can't he has just set them up in the perfect trap so they are still screwed.

Will it help at all if she somehow gets on his good side? One of your first posts had him admiring her stealth, maybe if he respects her fighting abilities he'll be less likely to throw her to the wolves? I know I'm grasping at straws, the answer's probably something to the effect of "Hahahahaha-- NO."

You would probably be right. Sort of. If he REALLY respects you, as he does Wilhelmina, someone who fought him like fifty times and never died, he will actually probably be pretty decent to you in that regard. He DID end up doing his very best to kill Wilhelmina wince she was still his target, though, so if I get contracted to kill you not even that will save you.

Oh, don't worry. If Sabrac really likes you he'll be sure to stick around to kill the wolves if you die trying. ;) Also, he's not completely emotionless: there's his love interest Mare and his "boss" Sairei no Hebi in the anime canon. Also, he doesn't kill without a paycheck for it... Or if you dive into him by yourself.

Oh, and a note Sicon... Since you don't know much of One Piece. There's fish bigger than Sairei no Hebi. For reference, they meet a Island Whale early on. The thing is actually bigger tham most Islands in the show. Light shows and huge flame waves won't bother Marco at all: The aftermath of a duel between two Logias (Think Crimson King, one for each element) of Magma vs. Ice created a hell island that's half on fire and half under a blizzard.

Anyway guys, if you think I'm talking too much about the character backgrounds just tell me to stop and I will.
