Section done! Sending relevant PMs now! It will only be about two minutes till you have them.

I would also like to make an official request to de-nerf Sabrac's Healing Factor. My reasons are as follows.

First, I can't bloody think of an in-universe explanation for it. I've been racking my brains since this started, but I STILL can't come up with a way to believably remove most of his regeneration simply because it isn't really regeneration, but just how his physiology works.

Second, if I'm free to let Sabrac get blown up, I can really show how powerful people are. Even if he can reform at will, Sabrac is REALLY hard to destroy. The only times he has been blown up in-series save for the times where he just walks into an attack because he doesn't give a sh*t are when he is out gambitted by the very best of the Flame Haze. If someone is strong enough to blow up Sabrac, they are STRONG. It's really one of the best methods I can use to establish that Sabrac is fighting a really tough opponent.

Finally, we are not, and likely will not be fighting each other, and so the nerfing isn't really meaningful anyhow. Besides, even without regen Sabrac is just broken anyway.

Thoughts, Xana?

Well it has been awhile but I believe that Crimson Lords run off of power of existence right? Even if Sabrac has metic tons of the stuff he has to recharge, especially after everything he has been doing. You could have a scene where he tries to take in some of the power of exitance from something only for him to find that the flames of other worlds aren't compatible with his. That would mean he would have to conserve his power for attack and allow his body just to heal naturally.

I definitely will need a recharge after the Mewtwo boss fight, but Sabrac is probably just going to go and get a boost from the God of Light between battles when it gets ready to send us to the next world. Otherwise he would run out easily. For now though, he still should have a few f*cktons of power left, but he is going to expend a pretty big amount during the boss battles regardless.

So basically I will just nerf and un-nerf him depending on his fluctuating power levels. Sound good?

By the way, Pixie, here is the BGM I gave Alice for being awesome.

What do you think?

Holy... That's perfect for Alice! I'm equal parts  :gurt: .

And on Alice, I'm sure you all noticed I deviated a LOT from my initial plan for her... I hope that's ok.
Initially I'd planned on relying mostly on summoning and have Alice uber vulnerable and clueless... But it didn't fit the personality I thought out and I couldn't make anything happen by myself.
All her fights would be: Summon stuff. Stuff dies. Summon More Stuff. Stuff wins fight.

Since I played that emotional breakdown and had some sort of older personality arise, I'm playing more by the Persona rules. She can fight really well, her summons acting for Physical fighting (which she can't do, at all. Sure, I plan on having her summon a knife later on... But no spoilers), and going with the SMT series' Spells, out of which I already used the single most powerful one (Megidolaon), so in that department she can't really get stronger than she already is, only smarter in how to use it.

Thoughts?

I really need to find BGM for Kestral... *ponders*
The voices in my head tell me that we saved the world. However, they also told me that George Clooney's face is on the dollar bill, so... meh. The voices are more fun, anyway.

Glad you liked it!

Also, I think that sounds great. Alice is being really awesome so far. I mean, why else would I have given her that BGM, which I intended to use for Sabrac doing something insanely epic? I think stronger is always the first step. A lot of series use the Worf Effect because they want the protagonist to get stronger so it's more "interesting" but as long as you use abilities you already have in a smarter way, you can keep the awesomeness escalating for a long time.

Like I said elsewhere, start with any of the "Greatest Battle Music" or "Most Emotional OSTs" or whatever videos and just start going through related vids till you find something that feels just right and paints the picture you want it to.

:D

That's the reason I'm a fan of One Piece, The Dresden Files, etc. Works where linear power level doesn't really matter much when stuff is actually happening. And I still have a lot of ideas I am yet to use for Alice. Some from the games, some from my own take on her character... I could almost say that my Alice is less of a SMT Alice and more of a SMT Alice Expy.

Sicon's right. I've been doing that. In fact, from the link he posted I got here! Does not really fit for Alice, but I sure could see Kevin listening to this on his headphones in the Black Knight RP.

It's UP! All Red dialogue contributed by the one and only Shane, whose sense of humor just keeps getting better as this RPG gets longer. Also, obviously the section after the line break was contributed by Xana, but I don't need to tell you guys that.

Now time to get to work on the second half, where we beat up Jericho using Xana's post slot. It'll be up within another day guys, so get ready!

Oh come on, it isn't even HALF of Mimsy's. And you KNOW it will be cool...

It isn't really that bad, is it?

It's only a few hundred words longer than my opening post as Alister on the other RP. Still within the 3k range.

You know... I feel kind of sad for Sabrac this turn... Dude got blown up by Alice. Twice. And she didn't even know he was there.
Ulrich going thunderbeast was unexpected. :gurt:

On a related note, do you guys have the urge to write lots and lots of scenes for your characters? I mean, it's no longer my turn, I have no idea what the setting for my next post will be... Yet I want to keep writing Alice's scenes!

Yes, I do, but I end up with writer's block, even if I think into a scene for days and days

That's exactly what happened to me this turn, and then I just ended up overhauling the whole thing.

No, he won't edit it. He had to rewrite it before posting. That's all.

And Xana's post is a direct continuation of that scene.

Oh, BTW Sicon, how do you find the musics for your posts? I'm planning this scene for some boss we might find (actually, this scene was originally intended to be at you, but the events that happened on the start made me realize I wasn't strong enough, but since then the scene developed to be aimed at a boss) and I wanted a BGM for it, I had one in mind, but I forgot what was it name.

And navigate through the recommended videos for more awesome stuff! :gurt:

Or just go through the links in the RPG Thread itself.

Well, I'm not Sicon, but I generally just go through my favorite Touhou music circles until I find something that fits. Bonus points if it helps me make a continuity reference like with Mima. But Sicon's method seems to generally just be surfing the "greatest battle music of all times" playlist on youtube until he finds something he likes. Or asking me for Touhou BGMs to use. XD
