Have you ever woken up in the middle of the night and heard something in your house? Not another person, you would know the difference between the sounds a person makes and the sound of whatever was in your house right now. You grab some sort of defense and slowly make your way out of your bed to investigate. What you see horrifies you for the split second that you are left alive. After that you are left as nothing but a bloody corpse on your carpet. The thing that just killed you is known as a Freak.

And just so you know, it doesn't exist. If you were to ask anyone that knew about the Freaks if they existed you would be laughed off, and then you would be killed and have it claimed as an accident. The Freaks have been around a lot longer than humans, waiting, planning, and killing as they please. They come in many different forms, but one thing is the same for all of them. They hate you, and they want you dead.
A small order does exist which knows about these creatures. They have been hunting down the Freaks ever since man could fight back. They gather together those that can fight against the dark and they train them to battle against it. You are the last line of defense against mankind and a force that would gladly see them dead. Good luck.

This RP will go by the name Black Knight. The purpose of this RP is for a group of highly trained agents to investigate paranormal activity caused by a race of beings codenamed “Freaks”. Once found they must be destroyed or captured for further study. Thankfully mankind has one or two tricks up its sleeves with which to fight. In order to join you must create a character sheet that follows this format

Class Abilities

Soldier: Trained in all manner of weapons. These are the front lines men for taking out the human followers of the Freaks, but are more vulnerable to the mental attacks of the Freaks.

Psychic: Humans who through luck or birth were born with amazing sensitivity to the supernatural. They may also gain some unnatural power the more they are exposed to the darker elements. They are normally a bit frailer than normal people but make up for it by being trackers and having abilities not many others have

Investigator: A bit of a Jack of All Trades master of none. This class is not frail, but they are not weak either. They know how to use quite a few weapons and can hold their own if their minds are trying to be invaded by the Freaks. Their main claim to fame is the ability to recognize clues where none others could and being almost perfect judges of character

Templar: A title passed down long generations of families who have battled against the freaks. They are mostly trained in bladed weapons, believing that the modern gun is not the weapon to battle freaks with. They use the power of their belief and devotion in order to block Freaks mental attacks. Their faith in whatever religion they were born into can become a potent weapon for removing the spirit class of Freak if they possess someone. Being around one of them makes it a bit easier to hold back the mental attacks of Freaks. Due to their beliefs they will not kill another human being, but will happily allow their team mates to remove any evil worshipers

Fields of Study
Weapons: When all else fails, shoot it. People who have this field of study have a deep appreciation for weapons and can modify them and even create stronger weapons with the materials around them.

Occult: Do those people in the blue robes worship the sun or that rock over there? If someone has studied the occult then you know that they are the one you should ask. They have special contacts in the crazy cults and can figure out if the murder was used to summon a demon god. If not you should ask the Investigator.

Street Smarts: With an ear to the ground and a jive in their step people who know about street smarts can easily point out gang signs and find the worst parts of any town or city before anyone else. They have contacts in the underworld and can “arrange” special weapon delivers for his team mates.

Science: What two chemicals mix together to create a colorless, odorless, gas that will kill someone in five seconds flat? Ask someone in this field for the answer. With unrivaled prowess in all things Science they can create explosive mixtures and mix together a potent knock out gas.

Computers: Damn error message &%$#% again. How the heck do I solve this? Step aside and allow the computer expert to handle that. If you run into a computer with information that will be deleted if you so much as press the wrong key the computer expert is the only one to turn to. Able to hack almost any computer to date they are rather useful against the more technologically minded cultists.

Special Abilities
For lv. 1 Psychics you can choose one from the following list
Minor Telekinesis- able to lift small objects about the size of a basketball with their minds. Also throw it really hard

Psychic Residue: You are able to open your six sense and see the traces of dark energy left in a room after a murder or Freak attack

Mind Flame: The most powerful psychic ability you can gain at the beginning. You are able to set things on fire with your mind. Be careful through, this can cause as much damage to you as your enemies, and once the fire is unleashed, there is no way to control it.

Templar’s
Shield: You can create a shield around two of your ally’s minds that stops a Freaks mental attack from ripping their minds to shreds.

Miracle Healing: Place your hand over a friends wound and wish upon a star and once a day you can heal any wound your friend has gained without so much as leaving a scar

Minor Detect Possession: Has a spirit type Freak taken over someone’s mind? With this ability a Templar can detect minor Freaks inside of the person’s body.

Duncan learned all about self-defense and the occult forces that he was being trained to fight from his mentor, who often left Duncan on his own while off tracking down the Freaks. Aastik went missing eight months ago, and Duncan has found a group of like-minded individuals with which to target his hated enemy.

When she was sixteen a Black Knight noticed her abilities while visiting a local Psychiatric Ward and hearing some kid muttering about the black smoke on the floor. Millie has spent the last two years learning about the occult crafts that she now knows are not the result of hallucinations. Still her vivid imagination occasionally causes trouble. When focussed she’s a force to contend with, but she gets quite easily distracted by, say, things that light up, and she sometimes seems a bit... vague and Not Quite With It.

When he become 23, the Order invites him to join, due to being watching him since the "incident".

Redwinters, a young man who at one time aspired to becoming a private investigator. It was unfortunate then, when his first case involved the massacre of a woman by something unnatural. He was thought a loon from the start when he suggested that it wasn't something human, something that could be easily explained away, but when they took him off the case he investigated on his own. He was drawn to the strange nature of the murder. It was the dead of winter when he finally managed to track one of the damn creatures down into an abandoned building close to where the woman had been killed. The Black Knights don't know what exactly happened when he confronted the freak, but one thing was certain in that only he walked out, drenched in red. Impressed at the man's deduction and ability to pick up on the supernatural sent that most 'real' detectives missed, they offered him a job and proper training to help dealing with these cases. He accepted, both to learn the truth of this other worldly force, and prevent others from receiving the same fate as that poor woman.

True there is. So what made you decide to be a soldier? I realize that some people could be turned off by the fact that other than weapons and training they don't have much in the way of super powers like templars and psychics.

a) There were too many Psychics.
b) Think of the possibilities of being vulnerable to the mind-control of Freaks! I could go crazy and blame it on.. uh... Never mind. You heard nothing.
c) Templar and Investigator doesn't mesh well with my backstory and a).

Having noticed a strange figure hanging around her house after the crime, Anna followed what turned out to be a Templar back to a meeting place. She assumed this man and his organization had killed her mother, and took time to plan and mount an attack. Though her plan failed, it ultimately allowed her to learn the truth: her mother's had been a Freak, something deadlier and more hideous than she'd ever imagined. Eventually, Anna and the Templars managed to find the Freak who killed her mother, and Anna had her revenge. But once her eyes had been opened, she couldn't just forget about Freaks and the danger they posed, so she resolved to work against them.

He will rescue her if she is alive and avenge her if she is dead, there is no “or die trying” option

Short Bio: Rivka's family is a very old Jewish family that has produced many fine Templars. When Rivka and her twin brother, Ephraim were born, her parents had every intention of training him to be the next Templar. That all changed when Rivka was five and they saw her heal a dog whose leg had been broken. From that day, Rivka was trained in the art of identifying and destroying the Freaks. She was also trained in her religion.

Rather than serve in the IDF and risk killing someone, Rivka spent two years in the Sherut Leumi working with at-risk youth in Jerusalem. Rivka got attached to one of the children she worked with, and was horrified when he...changed. The cheerful little boy became sadistic and withdrawn. Rivka immediately recognized the signs of possession by a Freak and tried her hardest to exorcise the spirit. Unfortunately, she was unsuccessful, and the child died not long after.

Because of that, Rivka has a special interest in protecting children from the Freaks. Every child she saves, every Freak she destroys is her atonement for being unable to save that little boy.

Short Bio: One day, when he was seven years old, he was walking home from school when he felt a pull towards a building. He couldn't explain it, it was like an itch in his mind that wouldn't go away. He approached the building, the sign saying it was an orphanage. The door was on its hinges and something about it felt... wrong. He walked in, shaking. He saw the bodies of the orphans strewn across the floor, laid in pools of their own blood, all of them with horrific injuries. There, were people standing, growling, with blood dripping from their hands. The freaks leapt towards Patrick and his mind shattered. He could take no more.
When he awoke he was in a room, with doctors stood around him. He could barely speak or move. Over the years, piece by piece, the Knights put his mind back together. They realised he had extraordinary powers, and he could be very useful in their fight against The Freaks.
