Watch the Footage

Alright, I'm going to do this. I'm not the best writer, nor will I be able to keep the best schedule on this, or update with regularity. But I hope that it will be fun to do, and it will improve my skill with words. And it should be pretty fun for my ad-libbing skills.

The way this will work is that after each update, I will allow for other people to post input based on what I request at the end. When I post, I will gather all the input and use it to determine what happens next. So you aren't obliged to participate actively, you can just pop in once and a while and post input based on what happens.

AND SO IT BEGINS!

There are Dark Places. Most do not see them, many do not know of them, all are horrified at their existence. But to those who inhabit them, life is as normal. For what defines normal, especially in them? Maintained by a force unknown, the Dark Places thrive, isolated from the outside world. But for at least one, it is coming into contact with the world.....

You find yourself floating in a blank space. You seem to have no body, nothing to designate who you are. Where are you? How did you get there? Who are you, anyway?

Before you get any farther, the blank space resolves itself into a faded greenish colour. A loud, dramatic voice echoes through.

"WELCOME TO YOUR ADVENTURE! HERE YOU WILL EXPERIENCE MANY THINGS; GREAT LOSS, POWERFUL FRIENDSHIPS, STRONG ADVERSARIES. WHILE IT MAY BE TOUGH BELIEVE IN YOURSELF AND YOU WILL SUCCEED IN YOUR....."

At this point it breaks off into a moment (though time may not apply here) of choking laughter, before resuming in a normal tone.

"Sorry about that. We're supposed to go through this whole speech thing, but it's so completely cliche that I tend to skip it. Anyway, onto the paperwork. Name, and Gender please?"

(So, give me a gender, and a name.)
