So in terms of prizes for Deja Vu day we haven't discussed this properly yet, but how does this sound

Anji is now the proudf owner of a genuine dragon tooth. Good for a variety of things, including grinding down to make some rather hefty magical potions, or being carved into a kind of weapon.

Fade meanwhile, gains mostly experience from his encounter: his ability to predict his opponent has gone up a bit, due to having repeated the same day several times, and he also keeps the shattered fragments of a previously magical gem, again, potentially useful in potions though... frankly I'd be careful with the stuff.

I am also considering a third prize for both of them. Given that this was a very difficult quest: due to your experiences with being trapped in a timeloop, how would you guys like a small degree of ripple effect proof memory? In the event that a time or reality influencing storyline comes up again you characters will be less severely affected than any of the other characters. So for example you'd immediately know if another time loop was happening, and would be aware if something about the people around you was "different" to usual as the result of some kind of reality shift, even if you couldn't say exactly what or how.

About the dragon tooth: pretty dangerous as one could bury it in the ground.

About the prediction of other's movement: neat, but I don't think Pixel can get that AND magic gem dust.

Also... As long as it isn't all the prizes plus the ripple-effect proof memory, I suppose only it would work, but as in: resistance to illusion, mind-control, etc. But only a very weak resistance, ATM.

It is only a weak resistance: keep in mind that as GMs Pixel and Eli won't be able to invovle thmselves as much in regular battles anyway so this is a lot less likely to cause a game breaking problem for them, it also allows them to possibly use their characters as NPC's in future reality-warping related battles.

A dragon's tooth and a slightly increased reaction time doens't strike me as too much to offer, and it WAS a very tough quest... reality warping is floor eighty-ninety style power according to Pixel.

Final Rewards for Quest 7: Déjà vu Day

Anji: Now the proud owner of a single genuine dragon’s claw. This handy item can be carved into a tool or a weapon by a professional carver, or ground up to use in some rather kick ass potions. No idea what those potions would DO but... well, there you go. have fun, Eli. :P

Fade: Minor increased endurance. he ran around with broken ribs, and can now take an extra bit of a punching in battle, reducing injuries. Just minor, mind you. I still wouldn't let him get kicked in the head, Pixel. ;)

Lore reward: This third point is for both Fade and Anji. Due to their time spent looping, both Anji and Fade now have a mild increase in their resistance to reality warping or time manipulating events, something which may come in handy higher up the tower.

This does NOT mean they are immune to reality warps or time loops or anything like that. They don’t have a full on ripple effect proof memory, more like... a ripple effect proof signal flare. For example, in a timeloop they would catch on a LOT faster than they did this time, and if something about the reality they’re in were warped in some way (like, somebody they were stood next to had had their back story changed by a reality warping fae or something :P) they would be vaguely aware that something was “wrong” with the pattern, even if they couldn’t say exactly what it was. It’s basically an intuition increase for that kind of magic.

Well, considering the lore I'm playing with for Fade, I'll call that ability "Metal Sense: Discipline." Just that he's focused and disciplined enough to focus away from injures. Of course, he's still injured, just playing it like he wasn't. And at this early point, he can't really shrug off anything very serious.

One sleepless night wouldn't hinder his fighting skill, a minor bruise from being flung into another person by green-haired swordsmen wouldn't bother him. A sword to the gut and he might be able to just up and run the hell away for a while before collapsing, but definitely not fight, or pretend that he's fine.

As promised, I got aroung to sketching Victin and Sicons characters, Kurt and Morionem. Kurt just came out of a dangerous underground after taking on vampires. Cut him some slack for not looking at his best.

That's twice I've drawn these characters beaten up... sheesh. I need happier drawing ideas.

Though I look kinda scared, but I still like it :gurt:

Looks awesome, though there is probably more of Kurt's cape left than just the shoulders. Is that just the two characters together, or is that Kurt's entrance scene?

The expression on your face is more like "What the hell just happened who IS this guy, and where in the world did he come from?"

Less scared and more just "Whhhaaaaaaaat? Where did all of this come from all of a sudden?"

Thank you! I was thinking the enterance :D And yeah I left the cape because I wanted to draw his back for some reason, but I think it will be returned in the final version for dynamic swishiness :3

And yes, Vic you're not so much scared as... justifably concerned about the way things are going and what's about to happen. ;)

As I said to Sicon. I still find it hilariously awesome that Kurt's face/hairstyle/capelet in that sketch looks overwhelmingly reminiscent of Zelgadis Greywords from The Slayers.

Great job, Scarab. Have some limes. :gurt: :gurt: :gurt:

Right, so. Side Quests and the difficulties of organizing them (this has nothing to do with OCD... hehe... who told you that? :? )

Anyway, there is an aftermath side quest that's been brewing for at least two weeks, detailing the events immediately after the Boss Battle on Floor 1. Seeing as how at least 6 people will be involved. It's come to my attention that GM attention may be needed to help organize it.

My hesitancy in this is basically railroading something you won't get rewarded for. I'll be partially dictating what you are doing (as far as setting goes), and I just feel a little uncomfortable doing that.

So, I'm calling for a vote. I'd only GM post on global quests, and you'd be free to write your own pieces at will, just like it is now. I'd just have a little more control of the thread, and help guide everyone through world-quests like Aftermath.

Well, I won't be part of this particular aftermath side story, so it doesn't have any immediate impact on me. Generally speaking, I'm fine with the idea of some GM coordination.
