Part 1
Salvantas entered the library with a sigh and looked around at the numerous books contained within the room. He found this place calming most days, but today was a bit of an exception. Today he came here seeking help from a friend. Well more of an acquaintance actually. He looked around the various small tables until he found her reading a book against the back wall, enjoying the quiet of the library and the peace of a good book. Salvantas took a deep breath and walked over to her. "Hey Anji"

The girl marked the page in her book and rested it on the table before looked Salvantas dead in the eyes. "No" she said the word simply and without mercy.

"I am just trying to say hi" Salvantas smiled unconvincingly. The junior didn't have a poker face for the life of him and everyone knew it.

The girl sighed and shook her head. "It is never just hi with you, oh sure it starts with hi but then it gets to 'hey Anji come on this crazy adventure you don't need the stress of going on' I am sorry Sally but I have studying, classes, I have a life outside of solving all the problems in this school" she crossed her arms and looked up at him.

Salvantas rubbed the back of his head. "But"

"No"

"But"

"No"

Salvantas sighed. "Please?"

Anji stayed silent for a moment before sighing and pushing out the chair opposite of her with her foot and motioned for him to sit down. "I really hate how nice I am sometimes" she smirked as he sat down. "So what kind of mess did you get into this time?"

Before Salvantas could start to explain a loud crash came from the front of the library. The crash came from the massive form of Hector, who had taken residency on the floor of the library after having tripped. No one laughed as they normally would. No one had the courage to make fun of the hulking senior. Rumors said that he had come to the school sophomore year after being released from juvie for gang violence. Some rumors even say he had killed a few people but no one could prove anything.

"You see this is why running in the halls right after the janitor cleans them is classified as a 'bad' idea" Ben sighed and put an arm on her fellow seniors arm and pulled him up.

Hector grinned and dusted himself up. "Maybe but did you see the speed I get when I slip... I mean before the whole falling on my face thing" he laughed as Ben shook her head.

"I swear you are the single most aggravating factor in my life" she noticed Anji and Salvantas sitting at the back of the library and waved at them.

Anji gave a small wave back and the two seniors walked over to the juniors. "So what have you two been up too?"

Ben gave a wry smirk. "Would you believe we have been staying out of trouble and not teaching bullies why it is a bad idea to steal from lower freshmen?"

Hector frowned. "Well I doubt she will now"

"It was a joke Hector"

Hector laughed a bit too loud and then blinked. "I don't get it"

Ben just shook her head and sat down and turned toward Salvantas. "I am pretty sure I can guess why you are here"

Salvantas gave look halfway between a smile and a frown toward the older girl. "Yeah I bet you can, tell me how is being Legias pet?"

Ben glared at him and simply kept up a smile. "Better then it is running around after school playing fake army against Tenzami and his mates"

The two began to get up before Hector put his hands on both of their shoulders and kept them down. "Library, shhh" he took the seat between them.

Anji sighed and looked at the three of them. "So I guess it is story time huh?" she shook her head and looked longingly at the book she would not be getting the chance to read. "Okay then who wants to start?"

Salvantas sighed. "Well you see it all started last Monday..."

Part 2

"So I am sure you guys know that recently someone has been sneaking drugs onto school grounds" Salvantas leaned back in the chair and looked at his classmates

Ben nodded an a scowl came across her face. "Trust me I know, we have been trying to catch whoever has been dealing for almost three weeks now"

"But so far whoever it is goes under the radar and all we can find are users, and since we all know how of the staff is paid off to ignore the drug issue taking in individual cases would get us no where" Hector sighed. "Sort of like trying to fight a fire that someone keeps pouring gas on"

Salvantas nodded. "Well I have been tracking down some leads, and those leads led me to the schools resident thief and crazy person"

Anji cracked a smile. "You went to see Seire huh?" she whistled. "You know after you cracked down on his test answer theft I would think the two of you would be at each others throats"

Salvantas shook his head. "Nope, turned out the test I stopped from being stolen was a decoy so he could get the essay question prompt, so we both got away with at least fifty percent what we wanted"

Ben rapped the table. "Hey back on subject, what did he say?"

Salvantas cleared his throat. "okay so this happened about a day ago, it was just at the start of lunch..."

Salvantas walked through the halls toward the teachers lounge and began to knock on the door. Four times, followed by two times, followed by five knocks. The door opened and a rather large looking kid looked at him. "Weapons?"

Salvantas spread out his arms and the kid frisked him. It was rare for a kid to get weapons past school security, but Seire took exactly zero risks. "What kind of mood is your boss in today Zess"

He finished the frisk and confiscated two pencils from Salvantas coat and put them in a small basket. "Hard to tell, he recently got a supply of high quality pens he is selling to art students, but Kurt is at the blackjack tables and well..."

"21 read em and weep" The white haired boy stood up from the table as he put down his cards and quickly crossed himself with the large gold cross he wore around his neck. "Bless the divine for his service to me this day"

Salvantas cracked a smile and walked over, putting his hand on the other boys shoulder. "You know I am pretty sure whoever is up there doesn't actually approve of gambling"

Kurt turned around and grinned at Salvantas. "Half of this money is going to help provide the orphans with presents this Christmas"

Salvantas raised an eyebrow. "And the other half?"

"I am sure the lord will understand if I spend a bit to buy myself a new coat" he winked at Salvantas and went back to his game.

Salvantas turned and walked toward the back, where the teen in charge of it all sat back and counted out a large wad of bills. "I know why you are here" the teen said looking up and at the other boy. Serie looked like anyone you might pass on the streets, which was good for him, because they wouldn't look twice at him after they noticed their wallet had been taken from their pocket. That was if they noticed at all.

Salvantas paused in front of the boy. "Then you already know what I am going to ask, but I might as well just say it anyway" Salvantas narrowed his eyes at Serie. "Are you the one passing the drugs around school?"

Serie looked up from his money for a moment and just looked at Salvantas. He then put the money in his pocket slowly and carefully before shooting up from his seat and grabbing Salvantas by the neck, pressing in hard. "Listen to me you little twit, because I am going to say this once and only once, I do not sell drugs, I do not sell weapons, I do not give people the tools to ruin their lives. I run a business here, I only allow people who can afford to play in here. And more then that just because I am not part of the goody two shoes club does not mean I would lower my standards to those of common filth" he held the hand on Salvantas throat before Kurt came over and put his hand on Serie shoulder.

"Calm down, you are ruining the mood, and you know as well as I do that he was asking a valid question, you aren't exactly the most upstanding citizen in the world" Kurt looked at Serie.

He sighed and let go of Salvantas. "Okay fine see hands are off of him, no go back to the table"

Kurt shook his head. "No thanks, I am going to cash in, if I win anymore your people start..." he leaned in and whispered. "Well cheating" He reached into his coat and handed over a small number of multicolored chips.

Serie sighed and gave him the value of the chips before Kurt walked away. "I am guessing you didn't just come here expecting me to be your guy"

Salvantas rubbed his throat and nodded. "No, that isn't the only reason, I need information on who might be doing it"

Serie shook his head. "I will tell you the same thing I told Ben when she asked, I don't know a single thing"

Salvantas rolled his eyes and pulled out a twenty and offered it to him.

Serie eyed the money for a moment before taking it and pulling out a small light from his key chain and shinning it along the back. "Okay so I might know one thing, it is more of a theory really. You know as well as I do the cops come through here once a week with the drug dogs, but what you didn't know is that the dogs nose is super sensitive, and in a place where people are spraying lots of chemicals in the air it could easily mess with their ability to get what is needed"

"So the locker rooms, gotcha" Salvantas turned around and began to make his way out.

"Wait" Serie walked back over and put the bill in Salvantas hand. "Catch the guy and stop this idiocy, if people start blowing money on drugs then I have no way of making a profit off of my other things"

Salvantas pocketed the money and nodded, making his way out of the lounge.

Anji nodded. "So what happened next?"

"I went to see a friend to get some help"

Part 3

Salvantas entered the gym and saw a small basketball game being played across the court. Of course this game wasn't like most others. Instead of being a team made up of two equal numbers of people it was instead about ten kids going against two others. One of the two was the schools resident sports star Marcus, and he was absolutely owning the entire court by himself. He dodged around all ten of the other players an effortlessly scored on them. The other 'player' was not really playing at all, just kind of standing in place looking like he might fall asleep any minute. But any time Marcus tossed him the ball he would come to life and move about the court and pass the back before going back into sleep mode. Marcus scored another basket and noticed Salvantas walk in and tossed the ball to the others telling them to have fun. As soon as this happened the other kid smiled and pumped his arm before going to the stand and laying down.

Marcus walked over and offered his knuckles for a bump. "Salvantas good to see you, still fighting the good fight"

Salvantas bumped his fist against the other boys and nodded. "As usual, speaking of the good fight I need your help with a little issue that has been going around"

Marcus frowned. "Listen man no offense to you and the other guys but I don't like getting involved in the school wars, I just want to play ball and get into college without a thousand fights on my record"

Salvantas nodded. He might not like the thought of people who knew about the struggle and had a chance to help out but didn't do anything but sit on the side lines. But it was a fact of life an he wasn't about to force people to follow his way of thinking. "I don't need you in a fight, but I do need your keys to the locker room"

Marcus looked at Salvantas and crossed his arms, his eyes glaring at the other teen. "You realize that if the coach finds out I let someone into the locker room then he will take away the key and might kick me off the team right?" he raised a hand to stop Salvantas from replying. "That being said I know you wouldn't ask this without a really good reason and I owe you for all the shit you have done to help my team" he tossed him the keys. "Be quick about it"

Salvantas nodded and made his way to the locker room and he made his way in. He then proceeded to make his way through each locker one after another, looking through them. He made good time going through each one and soon he found what he needed. A number of small bags full of white crystals hidden inside of a pair of sneakers that appeared and smelled well worn. He thought back to who owned each locker and his heart sunk when he realized who owned it. He closed it and began to make his way to the door when he heard another set of steps walking in. Too loud to be a kids, and that could only mean... the gym teacher. Salvantas pressed his body against the lockers and waited to be discovered.

"Hey coach I need your help with something" the voice of the lazy boy from the court rang out through the locker room.

The coach's voice replied. "What could you need help with that has to do with me Curtis?"

"Well I think the fact someone is peeping girls gym bathroom might be a thing" Curtis replied lazily.

"Son of a" the coach stomped off.

Salvantas walked toward the door and saw Curtis still standing there. "Thanks"

He waved. "Don't, I owed you for getting me out of the game, consider yourself paid back" he yawned and walked off.

Ben raised an eyebrow at Salvantas. "Well tell us who it is and we can crack down on him, simple and easy"

Anji sighed. "If it were that easy don't you think he would have done it without coming to me for advice?" she looked at Salvantas. "So who is it?"

Salvantas cast a glace to Ben and Hector. "I would rather not say, but it is someone who has been handed a rather tough hand in life and the extra money is going toward a good cause, but even with that I can't just allow someone to sell drugs on campus."

Hector frowned. "Well it is a rather tough question, you rat on him and you ruin him for trying to do a good thing in the wrong way, but you can't let him go on without losing your values" Ben gave Hector a look of surprise. "Hey I am not as dumb as I look"

Ben smirked. "Never said you were big guy"

Anji looked toward Salvantas. "So advice?"

He nodded. "Anything that comes to mind?"

Anji looked up to the roof and sighed. "Do whatever you can so you don't have to compromise your values, but also remember that saving the school from these issues is just as important to you"

Ben let out a short laugh. "Well I could have told you that"

"Probably not in a nice way through" Hector pointed out.

She punched him in the shoulder. "Who asked you?"

Salvantas stood up and nodded toward Anji. "Thanks for the advice"

Anji returned the nod. "So what will you do?"

"Whatever I can"

A kid walked along the streets toward his home in the lower income district of the city and sighed, his eyes on constant watch for threats. He had lost the... 'product' he had gotten from the leader of the biggest gang in the city and now he had no way to help buy his sisters medication for this month. His family was just scrapping along as it was, and without him helping he doubted they could keep going.

Suddenly a hand shot out from an alley and pulled him in, throwing him against the ground. "Well well well" a cold voice said from above him. "I guess I found myself a drug dealer" the boy that stood above him was none other then the private eye of the high school, feared for being about as effective as the school protection club. "You know what I do to drug dealers?" Salvantas reached into his coat and pulled out a butterfly knife from it, quickly snapping it into position and pressing it against the boys neck.

"P...please I needed the money for my sister man... d..don't do this" the boy whimpered as he felt the steel against his neck.

Salvantas looked the boy in the eyes and stood up, tossing a business card on his stomach. "Call that number, there is a warehouse manager looking for employees willing to stay clean and do work with a hundred percent conviction, I already set up an interview, he is an old friend of my dads. It won't pay as much as selling will but in the long run it will help" Salvantas folded the knife. "I find you pulling this shit again and I will bring you down" he ground the small plastic bags and broke them under his foot. And then he turned and disappeared into the streets, leaving the boy along with the card.
