Huh the misspellings and stuff seem to be a bit rampant. Maybe it has something to do with the whole sleeping thing? IDK just a theory. Anyway any figured out what Candlesonly means?

He's going to need a lot of passwords, seeing that his computer is pretty badly damaged.

A few observations:

* n Dryu's pictures, the grid pattern in pictures 1 and 4 are perfect inverts of each other. If it was random, this wouldn't happen unless it applied the same rules for dissolving out as it did for dissolving in.

The binary provided by Dryu doesn't immediately translate into ASCII (at least not for the first frame), so maybe something more is needed. Or it could be a red herring, of course.

* The text behind "initiating hard reset" in image 6 is the login form from a forum - perhaps even this one. You can see text like "You need to login in order to reply to topics within this forum" and "hide my online status this session", as well as the username/password boxes.

* The same screen appears behind the upside-down-ice-cream-cone-ish-like-thing with the word 'NEW' below it. Correcting the colours, rotating the image then isolating the cone gives us http://imgur.com/6I88dzR, but Google Image Search doesn't know what it is, and neither does TinEye.

In short, I'm not very helpful, sorry.

Pictures 2 and 5 are inverts, too.
I have finally taken a better look at the audio... Other than confirming the CANDLESONLY code, I didn't find anything. The only other information it could contain (as in, a sun could explode any minute now ) is in background clicks and weird swirly noises at ~ 500 Hz - 2 KHz frequency. But the clicks are difficult to isolate and count, and it's all pretty deep at tinfoil-hat level. My opinion is, we need to do something with that not-quite-password.

I think we've got all the information that videos gonna give is. The questions I have are

• What is that 'upside down ice cream'?
• What does candlesonly result in? (It doesn't seem to be a password for the guy's computer or whatever it is, but it MUST be relevant, it's encoded in friggin' Morse for goodness sakes.)
• Has anybody tried hunting for a brand name, or website? I looked up www.candlesonly.com, net and org, none of them are bought domains, but it's maybe something else...

The only thing I can think of is that, like real computers, the password is case sensitive. Since I gave CANDLESONLY as input, perhaps the expected password was in all lowercase (candlesonly), or a mixture of both (which would be evil :/)

Well, there's always that suspicious twitter handle, with no followers and only following some driver or something like that. Matrx did say "follow" the sound, but it sounds too much of a stretch, besides, the whole idea of having to ask somebody who might not even be related makes me uneasy. I'm pretty sure the number of attempts is only limited by our (and the GM's) patience. The number of attempts in the tweet was masked by question marks, which seems to indicate that, and it goes with all that glitchy aesthetic.

Ok, that does it. "Follow the sound"? I'll follow the sound. Literally. On twitter. And ask him for password. AND use his full name as a password. If that fails, the name of the guy he follows. That's nothing compared to what we did trying to find Deanna, anyway.

Also, his later tweets seem to have a cyberspace theme (how internet replaces paper, and all that).
