Ok, that was pretty intense. Obviously, we'll have to question her further, but there's no way she'll talk now. Not sure how we'll know when she's ready, but we'll have to wait.

What we do know is that Brent seemed to know her father, directly or not - or that he found her nickname some other way.

I told you her father was going to come up again...

UPD: Ok, this has to come up sooner or later. The thing is, we know our villain, and we know the New Light is likely responsible. And Becky seems to be in the middle of this. We have to fill her in, but at the same time, we can't, because we have no conclusive proof that we're not messing around.
We need to decide on how to deal with it. How much can we tell her? Does she have to know that we all know each other? Should she know about the forum? About TWWF events? About Matrx?

That's the problem, actually. Referring to some guy (HS/HE) and hinting that I knew her father isn't what I'd do if I discovered some horrifying truth about the corporation I worked at. Maybe he didn't expect to be shuffled off (because "message me back"), but even then it's an odd thing to start a cryptic conversation with.

The real achievement is getting Becky on our side. Or, well, making her question things with ninjas. That works, too.

We need to tell her something about what's really going on behind the scenes, but we can't screw it up or else we'll be in huge trouble. Perhaps we could ask Matrx for some kind of help in convincing Rebecca.

That is true.

Honestly I'm not entirely sure what to do now. There's still gonna be a point where Becky might be in big trouble and we'd have to figure out how to save her.

Don't do that. That's for TV Tropes Wiki-related concerns only.

I'm fairly certain a thread on TV Tropes isn't necessary. This game was made for the community here. Bringing new people in is fine, but exporting it to a different forum is probably a bad idea.

My opinion is that we should tell her what we know about the New Light, but withhold the source, at least until Matrx restores some verifiable information for himself. Because "we know they're evil, don't ask how, see for yourself" gives her a heads-up while making us look like a shady lot, while from "we know they're evil and they warp reality because an AI came from a bad future to warn us, he's on our forum, ask him" she'll probably see a bunch of overly ARG-immersed nerds milking a terrible coincidence for drama. I think that disclosing any information is a bad idea, mainly for two reasons.

One, we have no solid proof. We have cryptic videos from an AI that claims to be both from the future and damaged to the point of giving us nearly useless information. That would do nothing to help her or us track down what has happened or prevent what will happen (again, according to a self-admitted damaged AI from the future).

Two, the more information that we give her, on the off chance that it's solid information, makes her a more valuable target. The more valuable she is, the more likely someone will try to kill her.

From my analysis, we are waiting on Matrx and Becky to do something, and no further action is required until more information presents itself.

Also, from a non-admin standpoint here: I'd suggest not showing Becky this forum. We're discussing things like her Dad (who Becky says died years ago), and I think that if Becky were to see this forum, I probably wouldn't feel comfortable with giving some theories I have, because they'd probably be a bit upsetting for Becky.

Again, though: just my opinion.

I've brought up the disclosure discussion because we are sort of responsible for Becky now, especially after shit's got real. We know she works for the bad guys, and she has been hanging around a possible assassination target, and generally talking too much. Its likely that she might end up becoming a target herself, so we must warn her and say that it's not just a hunch.

Of course, if we had never shown her Brent's message, she wouldn't have started digging and doubting things, so we could say she's relatively safe. Well, derp.

We had to advance the plot somehow.

Showing the forum is a terrible idea, though. Nothing good can come of it.
