He said 'OK', didn't he? I predict that the next tweet will be 'to retrieve the password solve this puzzle'.

Either that, or twitter is about to explode.

Wow, way to break the immersion there, Dryu, nice :-P

I still prefer 'way to go meta', thank you very much. :gurt:

Also, I stand corrected.

I can't see a pattern yet. Both are 4-byte strings (dwords), aren't particularly interesting if converted to decimal or from base64. Tried Caesar cipher for good measure. I hate to say this, but I still need more data, even though waiting is all we've been doing.

Maybe those are the code pieces... If so, what's the point of just telling us the code? :?

Go?

LOL?

So...

Ok, that also breaks the dword guess. So much for that.
UPD: Pyro has suggested that it might be a Youtube link. That seems to be getting somewhere, as Youtube video IDs are exactly 11 characters long. However, that video is unavailable. :(
UPD2: Apparently, the "this video is unavailable" is Youtube's equivalent of error 404, so that video does not exist, not blocked. If we are to follow that path further, maybe we should assume the link is scrambled.
UPD3: Trying it backwards, or blockwise-backwards (joJzn-KnOKy) doesn't work, either. I'll try all the block combinations, but that will have to wait until the evening.

Also, I've found that changing the last character in a Youtube link sometimes leads to the same video. :o

Try a Twitter link or a Google link-no, that's too long-or, I don't know, this is a crazy guess-a Wordpress link?

In the meantime, we got a new tweet.
Matrx wrote:Mjtufo, xqghuvwdqg, wjujfy.

The link leads to a gif with a hand showing 1-3-5 (I have checked - it indeed starts with 1).

There was also a deleted tweet with the same content, but the link led to the same image on Photobucket. Since we are not supposed to see this, I'll keep the link to myself unless for now (and it's not like there was any new content in there).

So. We have 3 short tweets, 1 tweet with 3 pieces of jibberish, and a hand with 3 numbers. I assume we have a complete puzzle. At least, it's about time we actually made any progress.

UPD: Eh, it's almost too easy. I tried brute-forcing a Caesarean shift on it, because why the hell not, and it turns out those numbers are inverted Caesarean cipher keys (-1 mod 26 = 25, -3 mod 26 = 23, -5 mod 26 = 21).

The tweet translates to "Listen, understand, repeat."

My theory: the weird tweets are supposed to be a "verbal charade" - if we say them aloud properly, we get an actual word(s), which is (are) the code.

I posted my version of the "weird tweets" from the previous days, could you check that? I'm no good at codebreaking, but I gave it a try.

Sooo does that work? I'm not getting it.

WMG mode on

Off the top of my head:
  • "nOKy" kinda sounds like "no key".
  • No idea what "zn-K" is supposed to sound like.
  • "joJ" sorta sounds like "judge".

Also, there were no new tweets for the last 2 days, so I assume it's our turn to push the plot forward.

It's WMG and codebreaking time.

Uh... okay  , I'm no pro but PRETTY sure that's not the kind of code you're looking for then. If there's been radio silence, then maybe we already HAVE the solution though be damned if I know what it is.

Dryu, this may be important:

So, I was looking at the TV Tropes page for Youtube Poop, and I found THIS:

Arc Words: "joj," and "sus."

I looked up joj, and this is what I found:

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=joj

So did he mean, Jittery Orange Juice?

...Jittery ora... what the hell?

Okay, look, maybe we're overthinking this? I mean, I presume we have everything we need to solve this if the guy has gone completely quiet (is he still quiet? I'm not checking) so we're probably just missing something obvious. What have we tried so far?

Using Caesarian keys again (N = 25 for the first two words, N = 21 for the third), the tweet translates to "Watch, Watch, understand".

Perhaps we should watch that gif again?

I got annoyed at the lack of progress, and pestered Kays into helping me look at the codes again.
We used the same ceasarean shift cyphers that everyone had been using, and you can see all of it here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qM6rdyMHHLbn2DCiaNWQlp0F6bKNtoQpqmgX1T9wdkc/edit

*deep breath*

That took a while.

We brute forced it from there, plugging in random combinations into Youtube, imgur, and twitter until Kays got this URL to work.

I was not that good with puzzles before, but I don't get the logic behind the way the ceasarian shifts were applied to those messages .-.

I checked - basically, each of those keys I found earlier was applied to the corresponding weird tweet. Concatenated, the decrypted weird tweets gave us a Youtube link.
I have to say, that was quite a stretch. Now track who the hints came from.

Now give me some time to pixel-hunt it.

For mine, there was none; I inputted the text into a cesarian shift solver online and tried random numbers until something other than nonsense came out.

Here's my reading of the morse code in the video:

-.-./.-/-./-../.-.././.../---/-./.-../-.--

which translates to CANDLESONLY.

Maybe the next clue is hidden somewhere with the candles in the video?
