Star Wars vs Star Trek

Exactly what it says on the tin.

Feel free to argue, geek out, discuss anything related to the two space operas, etc.

Why not both?

And I have watched neither.
Dolphins are some of the smartest animals, yes, but by human standards… Let's say you should praise the god that forces them to stay handless and underwater.

Well, if you like both, that's OK.

Do research while you can on Wikipedia for both.

I'm not really into either, but I am a fan of Star Wars and not much of a fan of Star Trek. To me, though, Star Wars consists only of the original trilogy and nothing else. I find that I like discussions and analyses of Star Trek much more than I like Star Trek itself.

When I get to dual-wield Lightsabers (not Double-Bladed ones, those things are ugly and unwieldy as hell), then I'll consider saying Star Wars. xD

Until then I don't particularly have an opinion on the matter. Didn't watch everything from either one, so I'm not taking sides. Both are interesting, neither is the end all of the argument. ;)

Had you have asked me before 2009 I probably would have said Star Wars. However, because of the recent J. J. Abrams film I have become one of the "New Age" Star Trek fans and I am conflicted and so I choose both.

I like Star Trek ( me and my dad are fans of the original series.), but I lean more towards Star Wars because...well....I like stuff that has more action. Also, I grew up watching the original trilogy.

Well I'm a Star Trek fan, mostly just for The Next Generation, so I guess I'd have to pick them. Some people found it duller than other series, but I really LIKED the way they tried to find solutions for very difficult problems, and all the different aliens that showed up. But it really came into it's own in the third season, wit one major storyline that dragged from the end of season 3 to the start of season four (known to many a Trekkie as 'the long summer'.) Also, Data was cool.

On the other hand... lightsabres are EXTREMELY tempting and props to Lucas for making Star Wars the epitome of the A Hero With a Thousand Faces storytelling theory IN SPACE.

There are actually conventions now for both groups of fans together which is nice :)
They sometimes say, "the place where I am right now was circled on a map for me"... Unfortunately, I kind of suck at orienteering.
