What inspires you to write something?

Music inspires me to write. I listen to one song and I have an entire book series planned out I swear.

Somtimes it's music for me. Though, most of the time I'm just thinking about stuff and they I think something that sounds interesting and then I write a bit about it, either a poem or whatever comes to mind when I start typing. Most of the times, when I need to write I just sit and write too... so there's that...

I just get bored or medicated or unmedicated or whatever and start daydreaming/brainstorming/thinking/also whatever.

So yeah.

TV and Movies really everytime I watch a film or show that's really good to me it just gets my creative mind working.

For example Community and TV Tropes really got me into doing meta fiction and works with lots of shout outs and lampshading.

Hell I'm still writing up my tv show idea as we speak I feel like that idea hash completely finished yet until I get everything down.

Well, adding to the vast Work of humanity in general inspires me. When you look at it that way, any act of creation is inherently awesome.

There are some specific inspirations, depending on what I'm working on. Two that are nearly universal are music, and the commentary track for Portal. The former is very primal. The latter might be the most perfect depiction and understanding.of the creative process I've ever seen laid out. It's art that makes you understand how art is made.

Lots of things really, but today specifically, my inspiration appears to come from typos. Like creating a strange mutant of squids and penguins by misspelling the latter as Penguids, for example.



See? Just give evolution 300 million years, trust me.

Yah...I mean, I can think of specific things that motivate me to do specific other things, but I can't really think of a general motivation, aside from general stuff like success, or not wanting to fail, or really generic stuff that applies to just about everyone.
