Images were picked mostly at random. Only so many could make it in, sorry guys.

Shane, I have enough 2048 mods to be playing. I used to get things done.

I just got back into NetHack, and I've already died about 5 times. Anyone else here into roguelikes?

I honestly want to get back into the gaming front a bit more. I really need to resume on finishing stuff like Ocarina of Time and Earthbound.

Plus I've gained some interest in the Persona franchise and now I'm just torn on whether I should try playing 3 or 4 and watch the anime adaptation of 4, since that's the easier option for me.

I've finished 3, but found 4 a little harder to get into. Not sure why. I do intend to play as much of Megaten in general as I can (which reminds me, I still need to finish SMT1). So far, that's been SMT1, Strange Journey, and Personas 3 & 4. It's a shame that I'm not a fan of fighting games, considering the existence of Arena.

Other stuff on my to-do list mostly consists of Final Fantasy (5 and Lightning Returns being at the top there), and I've recently decided to give Disgaea another chance.

Partly. I like the concept, and I've sunk many many hours into Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. That said, I never once got to the amulet in Nethack, let alone escape with it. XD

Play both, ignore the anime. Or watch it for watching it rather than to "experience" Persona 4. Simply put, the Persona games are much bigger than the main plot line, which is the only thing the anime covers. Unless you play it, you don't get to even meet most of the Social Links nor see their developments. :)

That's pretty neat

Yeah I figured just as much, most of the reviews said the same.

The only real issue is I don't have a PS2 and the only Persona games I can find in store are something like Persona 4 Arena which is on Xbox 360, which I obviously don't have. I've looked at downloading an Emulator but there are surprisingly few PS2 emulators out there and the one I could download requires me to get some code that I could only get from a real PS2, which is really weird.

Yeah I might try my hand at watching the anime first, at least to get me a god idea of what I could be getting into. Plus from most of the clips I've watched of the show, it's been pretty funny.

Everything from 6:20 in this is gold:

"I can, cause I'm the King *glasses push*" For a character who's meant to have little personality, they definitely had some fun there

You mean the BIOS? That part of the setup is copyrighted; one can get away with making the emulator itself, but putting the actual OS up for download could get them shut down. It's really not that hard to Google, though. I've got a working PS2 emulator that I got for the .hack GU games, which were never released over here (I can't import because of the region lock...).

Yeah the BIOS, yeah it's odd seeing as the rest of the emulators I have require nothing for me to play them except the game. (How else would I play Ocarina of Time and Earthbound with a 64 and SNES emulator? :P )

Yeah I might just try googling for one to use.

PS1 emulators need one too. I don't think earlier stuff than that needed a BIOS to function.

So, you know that myth about the thousands of unsold copies of ET for the Atari 2600 being dumped into a New Maxico landfill? Well, they've found them, and they're digging them up.

Technically you need to pay $1 to get Steam keys, and a single cent only gets you Bioshock, X-COM Declassified, and The Darkness II.

Almost right, but to technically the technicality even further, only Bioshock 1 has a DRM free download, which means if you pay less than $1 you can't get X-COM Declassified and The Darkness II, because you wouldn't be eligible for the steam keys which are the only method to acquire both of them.

They're going to add more games to the "Beat Average" range this Tuesday too. So there's that upside as well. :)

Is it sad that my answer is almost completely "No."

That's just me though, obviously a very good deal :D

A good deal is a good deal. Which is incidentally why I own all of the Dawn of War games, despite probably never going to play any of them - the entire set was a couple bucks, and I figured "why not?". Also all my Civ games count for a similar reason - too good of a deal to pass up.

At first I thought this meant that the deal was only through Steam and had a minimum of $1 in order to get anything.

I don't care about Steam keys anyway. =P

Okay so... No one uses Origin. Or at least, I hope no one does, but see, here's the thing:

http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-ge ... ollection/

The story is... EA decided to stop developing new packs for The Sims 2, so, until the 31st, they're giving away the game and all of the packs with all of the content and... Yeah.

Surprisingly, it's legit... These monsters... Making me create an Origin account...

Has anyone played Skyrim? If so, do you think you could explain how to level up?

I keep seeing messages that I'm eligible to level up, but I can't figure out what I'm supposed to do to make that happen. I don't have a real "manual" for the game, just a slip of paper in the box that says what each button on the controller does.

The text is really fuzzy on my CRT television, so much so that I can't read all of the words in the menus and so on. (In fact I'm pretty much making an educated guess as to the contents of the "eligible to level up" message, since it only shows up for a few seconds and the letters aren't at all clear.) So it's been pretty hard to figure out what I'm supposed to do. All of the advice I can see online seems to be about how to get to a point where you're ready to level up, but I can't find anything about the actual mechanism of leveling up and how to activate it.

EDIT: I figured it out. The same place that lets me get to "Items" and "Magic" and "Map" also has something called "Level Up" and I feel pretty foolish for not noticing it.

Now I have Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, Dota 2 and Minecraft set up in my computer, so if anyone wants to play with me try calling me over through Twitter or Steam. I don't know how Steam's chat work yet, though.
