Touhou is an original danmaku shooter series by fan artist ZUN, who did it in anime style because he's an anime fan. Cool though it is, it is NOT an anime!

Figured I'd ask... Should I try the 1~5 too? Have them and the emulator here, but didn't try playing them yet.

Sicon hasn't played yet, but I've beaten them all up through Fairy Wars. I'm going to be getting Ten Desires soon and finishing that up, but then I'll need to wait for Touhou Shinkiro to come out and get translated before I can continue Touhou-ing. =/

Also, I still need to beat the EX-Stage of IN, which is one of the few I've managed to unlock - no continuing on normal? Seriously?! - but Mokou's Limiting Edict ~ Tsuki no Iwakasa's Curse, Hourai ~ Fujiyama Volcano, Possessed by Phoenix, and Imperishable Shooting spellcards all kick my ass so hard I die horribly right off the get go, without even mentioning Immortal Fire Bird ~ Flying Phoenix and freakin' EX-Keine's ridiculously high speed homing bullet spam.

EDIT: Also, yeah, 1-5 are pretty fun, but they're also rather different from the usual. 1 is, for example, more like a puzzle game with bossfights than a straight up shooter, not to mention being ridiculously hard even on easy mode. 2 is a shooter, but without the spellcard system - obviously - and without the graze and focus mechanics, making it rather challenging despite the small amount of bullets onscreen. 3's a competitive 2 person shooter, whereas 4 and 5 are more like the modern games, minus spellcards. All in all, though, they're pretty fun, even if the last three of them haven't yet been patched to English.

Hum... I'll stick to 6 for now then... At least beating Remilia before trying another game... But I really want to beat Flandre's Ex-Stage... That's not going to happen soon...

Meh. I can't even unlock the EX stage of EoSD, so try as I might, I've given up on fighting Flandre any time in the foreseeable future. I can get to stage five on normal mode at times, but then Sakuya is just all like "MUDADA. MUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDA! ZA WARUDO! Toki wa tomare. *knife spam* Soshite... toki wa omokidasu. *knife spam killz meh.* ROAD ROLLER-DA! WRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!"

And by that time, I look something like China here.

She's the last boss on Easy. Got there without using a single bomb or continue: Spend all bombs and 1 continue to beat her. Though I'm a bit better since I've moved to normal after that little event. So I don't know how I'd fare playing on easy now.

Lol. Yeah. And then she's just all like "Well, even though you beat me, you only did it on easy mode, so you suck and thus cannot face the true final boss. Now kindly get the f**k out of my (mistress') mansion."

I've found, though, that if you can get past Patchy's epic spellcards in the MarisaB path, Sakuya isn't so bad. Because the obvious counter to timehax is....

(OKAY, so I lied. There TECHNICALLY IS a Touhou anime. It's a fan-made anime OVA detailing the events of Perfect Cherry Blossom. Happy?)
