The Overseer Project(Non-RPG Session)

Postby Sicon112 on Mon Apr 22, 2013 11:50 pm

Alright, people said this needed a thread, and so now it has one.

I've made a decision for now to start up a new session, open to all, with no RPing, since some of the former players aren't interested. It is going on line as I speak and I will start getting people into the game. I'll send out the login details to people on contact, since I don't really want random lurkers, if there are any, popping into the session.

So from here on, talk about the session here, and stuff like more item suggestions, and the like. I'll also leave notices to players here if I need to reach them all.

So, here we go again, diving into Sburb, but we are significantly less blind this time around, thanks to the google doc Narradilly kindly created for our use, cataloging all of the recipes and codes we know. Use it freely, and if you find that you own something that isn't on there, please add it in the same format as the other items you find there. Also, if you have information about an item that is already on there, but has blank spaces, please fill the blanks in as much as you can. My OCD will thank you profusely.

Other than that, some general guidelines as we go into our session:

1. Prototyping: Nothing too insane power wise, please. From what I've seen of the combat, you don't need to be as cautious as we were previously, with sprites with only a couple of points of power, but don't go wild here, either. I'm trusting you on this. If you want a high number, it would be much appreciated if you could run it by me just so I know what is coming my way. Also, please keep to reasonable prototyping items this time around, people. That means stuff that resembles, is, or was a living being, and not silly stuff like books or fridges. It's not a huge deal, but keep in mind that you can't get away with that in a real SBurb game.

2. Grist: I will let you know if I need you to have a certain type of grist when i hand you the login details.

3. Server/client connections: I will ask you to make someone your client, probably based on what order you join in. Just go to Player ---> Info after clicking on the house icon in the top-left and scroll to the bottom of the sheet. There will be a list of people in the session and a box asking who your client is. Fill it in, and boom, done.

4. Building: On a related note to the previous one is building. Because of a new update, it is important that we get a connection ring going ASAP and get everyone build up past gate two of their house so that everyone has access to all the lands. Building is done in the same place you select a client. Once you have a client, just go to the place where the box was and there will be a box asking how much grist you want to invest in your client's house. This uses YOUR CLIENT'S GRIST, NOT YOURS, so make sure to either check with them, or send the grist you intent to use up to them before hand.

ALSO: Since the player data was lost, they are allowing you to essentially godmode your grist back with the dev console for a week. I would prefer not to do this, even though I lost my stuff, because it feels cheap to me, but if you REALLY want to, it is there, and I won't stop you. Just a mater of personal opinion on my part.

And that's about it for now. Have fun. I'll get to making that session.

(Note: The RPG is still probably on the table, we will just use a different session for that. This will actually make the RPG somewhat less grind heavy, as you can transfer stuff you need to your account on the RPG session from your account in the main one, if you absolutely do not want to grind.)

I'm really, really tempted to take the easy route and take whatever grist I want from the rewards thingamajig, but then again, where's the fun in that? :P

So I will give 100,000 material of your choice to you if you can find Club weapons stronger then the Stun Capacitor that can be used in one hand.

I added a tab on the spreadsheet to keep track of our classes/aspects, prototypes, strife abstracti, etc.

It would be really great if everyone in the session could add their information to the sheet, so we'll have all the information in a handy place.

We should also redo the grist section, what with the new session and all.

Yeah. Someone will get to that shortly. Probably once I'm sure that we have about as many people as we are going to have, so that I don't have to redo it over and over again.

Welp, my echeladder is maxed out, I've equipped the best gear on the spreadsheet I can use, I currently can't access my third boss due to Qara's house not being high enough, and I've got about 5k power to swing around and smack enemies in the face with. Anyone want some help grinding for grist? I'd be happy to lend a hand. ^^

How much? From the looks of things, you haven't been updating the spreadsheet. (PS, if you've got a Tesseract, we could definitely use it.)

As we move closer and closer to the final battles I feel like I should throw up a small tip for assisting, seeing as we will be using that to take down everything on the battlefield that is bigger then us.

When you assist someone you are adding in Base Strength+Sprite Power+Current Rung. The most important part of this equation lies in the base strength the only thing you can control at this point. Now 9999 is a great Strength, but for assisting it is better to dual wield and break that limit. Two 8000 weapons gives you 12000 power, which will help the main fighter a bit more. Yes your +'s for various techniques will go down, but just switch back after the fight.

Because here is the current break down of our power if everyone is using just endgame two handed and I am leading the strife at full attack force

(Me) 61,780(full strength using Assault+Abuse with added Fraymottif boost of 20,000)+98,010 (used my own base strength for the y in the equation)= 159,790(give or take depending on how different everyones stuff is))

Now here is our full strength using dual weapons with 8000 giving total strength of 12,000 and adding in what my extras are from sprite and rung 891 (some are higher or lower but I figure mine is a good base))

61,780+116,019=177,799

Quite the difference wouldn't you say? And this is of course not counting in us all using very aspect powers and the such. I figure if we all do whatever our thing is strongest in at the start of the battle we could serious mess up any boss. Just food for thought.

Because Xana made a mistake about passive classes, here is clarification: Passive classes get a penalty to stats when they fight alone, and a bonus when assisting others. The bonus and penalty are determined by the percentage shown next to your class in game on your player info page. However, last I heard THIS BONUS/PENALTY ONLY TAKES EFFECT ON YOUR BASE ECHELADDER. Sprite and weapon power are totally unconnected.

So no, whatever problems you were having, Xana, being a passive class has relatively little to do with it.

That still kind of sucks actually. It makes sleep combat more difficult, especially because at 160% passive I must lose a crap ton of power. But regardless there must be another problem then, because as previously stated I am throwing around my endgame weapon and only doing damage to creatures with 9000 attack instead of one shoting them. Even if my echeladder was taken out I should have enough power to slaughter five of them without taking damage.

When enemies get together, they can deal ludicrous amounts of damage to people way higher than them. I'm not sure how the power is calculated, but I know that I'm at 3.5k power and if my enemies are more than just a bit over 2k and there are five of them, I either die outright or have to fight a long, careful uphill battle to kill them, and I'm active 140%. Yes, being passive makes it annoying to fight on the moon, though.

Enemies get the same bonuses as we do for assists, I imagine. Like, each enemy attack has a power of that of the first enemy in the line up, plus a percentage from each of the other enemies' levels.[/speculation]

Anyone who hasn't got all your solo fraymotifs yet and isn't stubbornly insisting on doing it all by yourself, a couple of us have all of ours and have extra boondollars... let us know, maybe here? and we can wire them to you. ^_^

EDIT: ALSO heads-up in case anyone's interested, the Perfect Maidvisor is no longer the strongest facegear. The Ultimate HUD which I just looted adds up to stronger.

Okay, I think we should assign roles for our respective Aspecty Things. Given that different aspects have different levels of effectiveness at certain things, it makes sense. For example, our Void players rely on getting the most use of their vial, whereas our Light players should stick to boosting power. If we go ahead and decide our roles now, it should make the group boss fights easier.

Blood = Damage. And Multi-Target Damage. But mostly just Damage. :P
Fraymotif 3 is a beast too. AoE Damage every turn + Power Boost based on damage dealt.

Space
1. Massive single damage
2. Extra 20000 power and hard to hit status
3. Still a freaking useless song.

Actually, judging by the wiki, Space fraymotif 3 summons up a random 9999 Power weapon and does damage with it based on its offensive boosts. Seems fairly useful, if not quite as much as it could be.
