I must say I think I need to rewatch the first Avatar while Legend of Korra doesn't have a new season. I was younger so I didn't pay much attention to it, until it was almost over. Then, after it ended, I realized how good it really was, and it seemed even better when Korra came. So yeah, I'm sure I should rewatch it.
Dolphins are some of the smartest animals, yes, but by human standards… Let's say you should praise the god that forces them to stay handless and underwater.

So, I'll state the question that we all are thinking about... Which kind of bender would you be if you were in the setting? Or would you be a non-bender?

What? Who? Me? :?

That one will come up later, I'm sure... XD

I'd totally want to be an airbender. I mean, airbenders can FLY. (With the right tools, but still, FLYING.)

...Of course, other benders can manage to fly too, depending on how they use their skills, but I'd rather fly the airbending way.

I'd be an Earthbender. Not only is the base bending absurdly powerful with the right mindset, you have like 2-3 other things you can bend

I would go with waterbending, mainly for the healing/human puppet aspects.

I'd be a waterbender, but more because water's my element personally. And for the healing, but that's just a bonus. ;)

If I had to pick a culture, though, I think I'd prefer the Earth Kingdom. What about you all?
The voices in my head tell me that we saved the world. However, they also told me that George Clooney's face is on the dollar bill, so... meh. The voices are more fun, anyway.

I'd really like eartbending, cause it's so damn POWERFUL.
Plus you can build stuff from solid rock 8-)

Also, for the curious: Doug from That Guy With The Glasses is reviewing EVERY episode of Last Airbender. So that's cool :3

Oh, and could you please mark any spoilers of Legend of Korra? For the people who've only seen Last Airbender :P (like me >_<)

Ok, so a little update about the reviews from Doug:
- He didn't mind the episode The Great Divide (generally the most hated episode) too much, but the reveal of the lie at the end really bugged him.
- He likes the characters so far, and he notices that Sokka has also developed as a character.
- He likes how even when the themes of the episodes seem done to death, the show does something different with them.
- The only episode that he didn't like so far was Bato of the Water Tribe.
- He noticed Azula in one episode and is wondering when he will see that character again.

He's probably going to watch the finale of the first season this evening, and I'm really curious how he reacts to Yue dying, the Koizilla and Azula coming into play.

Also, not related to the reviews :P
What would you do with any bending powers, outside of using them for fights?

Ice sculptures with water bending. Glass with fire and earth bending.

Waterbending would be good for purifying water and cleaning stuff in general.
So, apparently I'm the sanest madman this side of the international date line. Seems legit.

Use waterbending to pick locks.
Normal people are the easiest to manipulate. Too smart and they have an annoying tendency to catch wind of your plans, too dumb and, in the words of a certain pirate, "You can never tell when they are about to do something incredibly...stupid."

All styles of bending have ways to subvert locks, water and air could just pick locks, fire could melt locking mechanisms, and earth...would knock down the door

okay maybe not earth Edit: No wait I forgot metalbending
