You know, I don't have any animosity toward that episode. I mean, it wasn't really well done and didn't achieve anything, but I have no idea why people actively hate it.

Actually, I can't think of any individual episodes that I actively dislike. The first season in general bugged me because the pacing felt really off, with Aang wasting so much time when he was supposed to be going to the north pole to study waterbending.

What would you do with any bending powers, outside of using them for fights?

I would make kinetic sculptures that are activated with airbending! Because I would be an air bender because I want to fly.

Invent a "perpetual motion machine" patent it, sell it for exorbitant sums of money, then use my powers to escape once the authorities realized that it was just me using my telekinesis like powers to fool people into buying a piece of junk.

...What?

Try to discover how to use firebending to manipulate heat, if it were possible? And then freeze stuff with the power of fire?
Dolphins are some of the smartest animals, yes, but by human standards… Let's say you should praise the god that forces them to stay handless and underwater.

Waterbending could be used as a microwave, and also used to boil water for cooking.

How does that work, then?

Um... How? Waterbending manipulates water and ice, nothing else. Only firebending involves heat.
The voices in my head tell me that we saved the world. However, they also told me that George Clooney's face is on the dollar bill, so... meh. The voices are more fun, anyway.

Microwaves heat up food by vibrating the water molecules within the food, so if you can get the water vibrating at that frequency, you can heat anything that has water in it.

If you think that's bad narra consider that with air bending you can turn someone into bloody pulp by creating a vacuum around them and collapsing it at a high speed

Or simply keep them from breathing. Or knock them off a cliff. Or just pick them up via air glider and just drop them from above cloud level...

But airbenders are pacifists. Thank God.

*pictures an army of airbenders creating a storm the size of Canada*

*pictures other airbenders using air to create waves taller than the Empire State building, lifting masses of rock to the height of planes and... Putting off the fire of the matchstick you just lit and children's cake's candles before they can make a wish*

Explosive expansion of the air in their lungs. Or just the oxygen in their blood, (Probably specifically targeting the blood in sections of the brain) depending on how wide a definition of air it lets you control.

Earthbending/Metalbending could forcefully extract certain minerals from the body. Iron for instance.

If I were to guess, I'd say it's more likely that you could manipulate things in a gaseous form than that you can specifically manipulate oxygen. Since the oxygen in blood is tied up in hemoglobin molecules, I'd think it would be outside the range of influence.

The air in lungs would be fair game...

Man, a sadistic bender has SO MANY options.

We could probably do this for all bending styles and all their variations.

Another one for earthbending: Create a cloud of levitating razor sharp minuscule rock needles for someone else to breathe in and destroy their lungs with.

A sadistic person with any sort of supernatural ability has this many options. Them and brutally efficient people.

It also says at the top that this is a Last Airbender thread. I only expect spoilers from TLA to pop up here, not spoilers from LOK. If you really need to give spoilers to explain something, could you please at least mark them?
