The general movie and film thread

Postby Guyshane on Fri Aug 09, 2013 1:33 am

So I'm creating this thread because while we have a movie reviews thread and a movie night thread we don't have one for sharing and discussing films we like.
I say we nuke it from orbit...its the only way to be sure.

So let me start with this, which may or may not have been the reason I created the thread:

This is a fan film about Eddie Brock/Venom or as the non-comic readers among you may know him: Evil Spiderman. Eddie in this project is portrayed by Ryan Kwanten who plays Jason Stackhouse on True Blood

Edit: Also sorry for the double post.

Eh I was thinking of starting a thread like this soon. Anyways.

I haven't seen much movies lately but back in the holidays I saw:
* Man of Steel (Screw the haters I loved it)
* The Lone Ranger (It was ok, not as bad as some claim though Johnny depp needs a new agent)
* Pacific Rim (PURE F*CKING AWESOME :gurt: )
* The Wolverine (A pleasant surprise in fact and the post credits scene has me excited for Days of Future Past)
JRPictures.
Going Meta since 2010.

Hey guys! I have a film critique blog on Tumblr where I review old and new movies, check it out if you want!

http://theragereviewer.tumblr.com/

Since this is a general movie's thread I felt this was relevant.

Lasy movie I watched isThe Skin I Live In by Almadovar. It's weird, it's art house but it's curious and it's fascinating. Those who are sick of comedies and are looking for something unusual will like this one.

Art house is okay. I think sometimes it gets too pretentious for itself, but I'm no movie critic.

Also Hai. ^^

I just saw Kung Pow: Enter the Fist

It's dumb, silly and over the top. But my god it's the funniest film I've seen in ages

The Sea of Monsters.

Hmm...quite mixed. The fanbase has strongly divided opinions too.

Anyway..4.5. They tried their best. Sure, the plot wasn't really that good (Y U NO PUT HAMSTERS+CHARIOT RACE?) but it was saved by the excellent acting.

The only thing I have to complain about is this:
