Not something that has much to do with anything but my own pseudo-issues, but I've been in need of a bathing suit for a while, and every once in a while I get it into my head to look some up and see if they interest me. So I'm sitting here, like, "Hmm, I wonder if I can find a nice modest one-piece with a pretty design," and I already know what I'm gonna find, cause I've done this to myself before, but I look it up, find a site, and all I do is scroll down, saying, "...I said modest. Not modest. Not modest. Not modest. Ooh, that one would be pretty... if it were MODEST." I even caught myself once or twice thinking, "C'mon, guys, I'm not pretty enough to pull this shit off!" but then I backtrack and go more like, "Well, actually, I'm not toothpicky and pale as fuck enough to pull this off, so I guess I'll just keep scrolling."

...And that's five minutes out of the average girl's life, gentlemen.  ;)
The voices in my head tell me that we saved the world. However, they also told me that George Clooney's face is on the dollar bill, so... meh. The voices are more fun, anyway.

I've totally used the same pair of swim trunks for at least like 4 or 5 years. They're a bit less-fitting now, but that's because I'm so freaking out of shape.

Silly Isla foxes don't wear swimming suits.

In all seriousness through I am sure you would look great in anything you decided to wear. More faith in yourself is needed.

If it helps any Izzy, I'm having the same issue with the swimsuit thing. Gonna take it up again, since I used to do it all the time when I was younger and I need the exercise, but so far the only things I can find at work/ within my budget look... yeah, no.

Let us search the wilds for bathing suits together! :D

May I suggest that you two are probably not giving yourselves enough credit and could probably wear most if not all swimsuits and look good? If it's more a modesty issue than there are probably some two-pieces with a more modest cut, its just a matter of finding them.

It's less about looking good and more about feeling comfortable. Which can be connected to feeling like you look good and is not necessarily the same thing.

Speaking as a female, finding bathing modest bathing suits is a freaking ordeal. The last time I bought a bathing suit... well, I only bought it because I was going to be on vacation with my friends at a resort with a pool and they INSISTED that I was going to go swimming with them. I wound up finding a top and a bottom separately at... JC Penny, I think? that worked okay for me. Shorts and a kind of tank-top made out of that bathing suit kind of material.

I'd recommend searching in stores rather than online, and not limiting yourself to the women's section.

Also, several years ago my mom showed me something that all her friends online were making fun of. It was a line of "modestwear" bathing suits. And my mom and her friends had the position of "Oh isn't it funny that people are so scandalized by bathing suits that they had to make these alternatives" and I was like "Mom don't laugh at those they look like EXACTLY the kind of bathing suits I'd like to wear."

EDIT: Oh wait it was WholesomeWear and it can be found here! http://www.wholesomewear.com/page-4.html

I suspect that company probably knows what they are doing and has thought of this already, but looking at those, I'm a little unsure about how functional they are. It looks like a bit too much fabric to me, not that is should show more, just that those layered ones look like they would be a real pain to move around the water in.

Then again, for casual swimming, they would probably be fine. I just spent most of my teenage years on a swim team, so I would have problems with something that bulky.
Normal people are the easiest to manipulate. Too smart and they have an annoying tendency to catch wind of your plans, too dumb and, in the words of a certain pirate, "You can never tell when they are about to do something incredibly...stupid."

Well those swimsuits are meant for people spending leisure time on a beach or at a poolside, and not swimming competitively.

EDIT: Read your last sentence. My bad, dude. XD These meds are messing me up more than I thought.

*Looks at WholesomeWear line* ...When I said 'modest' I didn't mean, like covers up so much you can wear it as something other than a swimsuit. XD Gave me a good laugh, though.

Still, I would want a good bathing suit that can actually count as a suit and not something that doubles as lingerie. Getting that and a pretty design is harder than it seems. It's as though 'modest' equals 'okay, Gramma, let's get you something in a nice solid color with no originality whatsoever.' Then again, I'm not trying all that hard, either. :)

By any chance is anyone excited for Godzilla 2014?

I mean, it looks like it's going to be good. They're being really serious about it, and the King looks awesome, and is a decent height. Hopefully they'll be no Hype Backlash...

Eh, I don't know much about it. I've never cared much for Godzilla. Plus, looking at that brief glimpse of the star himself, I'm reminded a bit of Cloverfield without the home-video aspect. :P

I have no intention of watching Godzilla. But then, it's not FOR me. It's for people who have ever enjoyed a Godzilla movie. Or who enjoy giant monsters in general or in concept.

I am going to watch Godzilla because it looks like a very entertaining disaster movie. That's what I'm expecting going into it, and I'm pretty sure it will deliver on that front.

Based on what I'm seeing for the trailers it'll go one of two ways: either its going to be an unmitigated disaster (heh, puns) or it will be a legitimately good film. I hope it's the second one. It'd be nice to get a movie anywhere near the quality of the original black and white film

You know, I was lucky enough to meet Ray Harryhousen's agent at the Bradford animation Festival. We got to see some of his old films. Also, one of the oldest versions of the Lost World. We're talking text on screen here.

The phrase "My brontosaurus has escaped, say off the streets until I recapture it!" will never stop being funny.

My favorite thing from Harryhousen is still the skeletons from Jason and the Argonauts. Couldn't tell you why but I still love those to this day.

So, I need someone to help talk me out of trying to bring back the D&D campaign on here. Can I get help on that, please?

You aren't helping.

Basically, it would never get off the ground. I have a chronic problem of not doing shit, and for the campaign this is no exception. I just wouldn't do that amount of work necessary to keep the campaign afloat. And I know this, and this is why I'm not going to run the campaign.

That being said, I still want to run the campaign, so I'm currently trying to convince myself of that fact.

Is "Maid RPG" an actual thing that exists elsewhere, or just a concept you're suggesting where we all roleplay as maids?

It exists and I've played it with him. Pretty amusing and easy system.
