Sort of...however, it's definitely not pleasing, at all, to see the gas and the idiotic generals.

However, watching China during 1911 and post-1911 is satisfying and interesting, and '50s America and '60s Britain are wonderful to look at. Ancient Egypt is very nice too.

By the way, I also like Pop Culture a lot. Is there a Professor for that at University?

I am such an idiot for not mentioning this earlier!

It's been a rather black week for my school, with two major incidents.

The first one was pretty scary. There's a boy called Martin Lo at my school, in my year (Year 10), who is a gamer with serious anger problems. He's a bit of a bully, so nobody likes him. The weird thing is he gets bullied by the other boys, even though he bullies them.

Well, according to my best friend Giles, who was in his tutor group, or what most of you would call "homeroom", he snapped and brought an airsoft Glock 17 and a knife IN CLASS and tried to attack someone. That is correct, you read that properly.

He got letters home, visits to teachers and suspension for 3 days (he enjoyed the suspension, however.)

It's really serious-there's never been something like this before. There are currently rumors flying around, starting from mild ones, like the knife was a big-as-hell kitchen knife, to crazy ones, like he actually brought a UZI and machete to school, and has two other guns plus grenades in his locker, and was planning to shoot up the school.

The second incident is this, and was taken even more seriously-some people uncovered a scheme by a group lead by one of the boys in my school and year, Jeffrey So, to take photos of the Chemistry Test they just finished and share it on Facebook to the entire year. They succeeded, but according to one of my friends who was in the plot, someone ratted on them and now the core members are trying to weasel their way out by giving the teachers names and stuff. Also, the Science Department had to create a whole new test for the classes who haven't done it, now everyone knows what's in the test.

The teachers are probably going to expel them all, or at the least suspend them. I'm kind of afraid for my friend-she's a student activist, and one of the best students in Chemistry, so my teacher is going to flip when she finds out. I don't want her to get expelled-she's nice, and cheerful most of the time.

Oh, and as for my emotional problems, I have a counselor now. We're working to letting my parents, classmates, friends and teachers know the true amount of emotional pain I go through via my oversensitivity. I also decided to ask the counselor to find Martin and take him to sessions.

I mean, I don't like him, and neither does anyone else, but the kid does need a lot of help and anger management. I hope he changes soon-attacks like that one should never happen in South Island School again.

I remember one weekend I got bumped in the leg by a car crossing the road. Not the driver's fault, all me not paying attention to the road. I called in sick Monday because ow, pain, but it was literally just a bump. By the time I got back to school the day after I had apparently been in the Intensive Care Unit and the driver was going to court.

I'd advise not spreading rumours like that, Pyro, it's very thoughtless and scares people. A guy bringing a GUN TO SCHOOL (even an airgun) or a knife would NOT be suspended for just three days, if he would, there is something seriously messed up with that school.

I wasn't the one spreading rumors, and that actually did happen. He didn't hurt anybody, but he did bring a gun and a knife to school.

Some schools suspend/expel kids just for folding a piece of paper into a gun-shape. Or biting their sandwich into a gun-shape. Or folding their hand into a gun-shape and pretending to shoot somebody. Bringing an airsoft gun - even though it's non-lethal - will make folks paranoid. Particularly the over-protective types with little common sense.

Yea sadly I think we sometimes get a bit over-paranoid about safety. I mean certainly not to discount cases where real weapons cause real harm but there was one case where a kid was arrested over sarcasm so blatant that you could read it over the internet.

I can answer that for you-
1. Martin didn't really manage to attack anyone. Or hurt anyone at all. He was grabbed by the teacher and half of the class. But from what I'm told, he got VERY angry shoutings at from teachers, visits to the Principal, etc. That was probably enough, so they put his suspension to 3 days.
2. On the other hand, education is taken very seriously in Hong Kong, and seeing that the test-copiers actually succeeded, under the teacher's noses, with their plan, the punishment is probably more severe.

In absolutely no way should the theft of a test (even an important one, and a successful theft) be treated with more severity than bringing a lethal weapon on school property or giving any indication that he would use it. That he didn't have the chance to use it should not matter squat. The idea of a THREE DAY SUSPENSION being enough angers me greatly. He doesn't need a suspension. He needs a criminal record. or at the evry least a severe talking to by the police.. Pointed in the right place a BB gun can do severe damage and perhaps even actually KILL in the right circumstances. It's still a GUN. Don't get me started on the knife.

I asked my counselor to find him and talk with his Head of House so he can have sessions with her. It's helped me a lot-I no longer try to murder people when I snap.

I don't like Martin, and nor does anyone else, but I hope I'm saving him here, because you are right-he needs help. And anger management. IN SPADES.

Ugh. I hate being sick. And this is pretty uncomfortable, cause it's not just a sore throat like I suffered last week. This one has nausea, headaches, hot flashes, puking... I'm not so bad off as to stop functioning or need a hospital, but I just want it to stop. Today was a snow day (thank you, Canada), so I at least didn't have classes to worry about, but I haven't really been able to enjoy myself. Plus, I still have homework and a paper to do, hah! I've puked twice despite not having eaten anything, and right now I'm trying to slowly eat something small so that I don't go all day without anything and hoping that I don't upchuck that later. It's surprising, how little I have access to in the event that I get sick. I'm so used to not getting sick at school that the most I can do is drink water (and walk down to the Rite Aid, but I'm quite honestly not in the mood). I suppose I could try finding a vending machine with something carbonated (possibly ginger ale, but more probably too much to ask), but the only vending machine in walking distance has contents that I can't recall, and if it turns out to be snacks then I just might throw up again.

This is just me venting (and it's helping a bit. With the emotional portion, at least) so feel free to ignore.

Okay, so, news. I have plenty of water, and the vending machine downstairs does, in fact, have soda (though no ginger ale, of course). Doesn't matter, though, because each and every item is sold out. And it would've eaten my dollar if I hadn't spammed the coin return button. But my roommate had a can of Sprite, so I'm letting that go flat as the internet help site dictates.

Haven't thrown up my half-eaten not-big-enough-to-be-a-meal yet, thankfully. My stomach hurts, a bit, but I'm not nauseous anymore (or yet). I don't have any crackers, though, only cookies, and I don't fancy the taste of those at the moment. No telling how school will settle tomorrow, be it delayed, cancelled, or on-time, so I don't know how much bed rest I can give myself. Tuesdays are my busiest days, too. Hopefully, the nausea was only for today and I can get through the rest of the week without incident.
