Anyway, I've always wanted to talk...

I just realized that Applejack Appreciation Day fell on the exact same day that my college celebrates Apple Day, where we eat apple-themed foods, set up fundraiser booths based on apple-themed activities, spend the morning going Apple Gleaning at a local farm, and all sorts of other apple type things. I'm so mad that I didn't realize this until now, but at least I can appreciate the irony.

Gladly. My Worldview and the Media class was assigned to write a film review on any film we chose. Unfortunately, I couldn't use any of my family's DVD players, so I had to use the one movie on my computer: The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. When writing the review, most of the space in said review was filled by a summary of what on earth is going in the story before the movie begins. That is how the statement above came to be.

What is your favourite period of History?

(If you don't like History feel free to not answer.)

Mine is World War One. Never really liked World War Two. Bit sensitive to my heart.

I rather enjoy the Feudal Eras across the globe, as they are the usually exaggerated in a positive manner, and finding the truth about it is satisfying.

Ancient Egypt! (Less a period than a period-and-location.)

Pretty much all of history interests me to some degree, though I love the middle ages and the period between 1860-1950.

Give me Tudor England (and Stuart England, I'm not too picky) any day. And by any day I mean I'd still prefer not to live there, though.

Bits and pieces of pretty much everything. There's interesting stuff to be found everywhere, just need to look at it the right way.

If to pick one and just one, I'll go with "when there were dinosaurs." And leave it at that.

Indecisive as ever, Golden Age Athens/Rome, the Renaissance, or the Enlightenment. Not that I could choose.

I am SOOOOOOOO EXCITED FOR THE DAY OF THE DOCTOR! I also bought 3 of the lovely 50th anniversary novels. They are AWESOME. YEAAAAAAH.

I wish they reprinted novels of some of the most famous episodes for each doctor...such as "The Daleks" for the First Doctor, "The Tomb of the Cybermen" for the Second Doctor, "Spearhead from Space" for the Third, "The Pyramids of Mars" for the Fourth (love Tom Baker, funniest Doctor alive.), "The Caves of Androzani" the Fifth, "The Ultimate Foe" for Six, "Remembrance of the Daleks" (DUH) for Seven, the entire Doctor Who movie in one book for the Eighth, "The Empty Child" for Nine, (I can't really decide on which one for Ten), and for Eleven...uh...I think I'll stop geeking out here, I wouldn't want to start the next Time War...

So.

I have a story.

I'm in an "Intro to Theatre" class this semester in college. One of the assignments that we had to do was attend a play, and then write a short paper on it.

Earlier today, during class, the teacher spoke a little about a play called "Wake Up Mr. Sleep! Your Unconscious Mind Is Dead!". It is a kind of play that really doesn't have much internal coherence - there's a lot of things happening, and most of it doesn't really make sense, or have much relation to other things going on. After class, me and a few other kids stuck around while packing up, and ended up discussing on how exactly one would effectively write a paper on such a play. The conclusion that we came up with was that you'd have to do an audio recording of you performing a stream-of-consciousness commentary, then transcribe it exactly. Now, I don't know why we ended up discussing this to figure out how to do it, but we did.

Now, about 10 minutes ago, I checked my e-mail. I'll give you a guess as to what we now have as an extra credit assignment, the first two don't count.

Essentially, I was part of what inspired a teacher to make up an extra credit assignment. It's an interesting feeling.

Anyone seen Day of the Doctor yet?

I don't watch the series, but apparently that episode was a big enough deal to leak over to the MLP section early on.

I watched it during the simulcast even though I was super sick (so sick that I had to take a break at one point... thank goodness for DVR).

And then I saw it in a theater on Monday! I didn't realize it was in theaters until after the showings were already over on Saturday. I would have loved to have seen it in a theater during the simulcast, but it wouldn't have worked out even if I had known, because I was sick.

But it was great!

I saw it, too. I had a party at my house to watch it and everything.
