Sooo, on my friend's recommendation, I'm gonna go watch the first episode of Fullmetal Alchemist B.

Good call. It's a great show, and I'm sure you'll be writing the characters into the coffee room in no time.

I just finished reading House of Leaves.

Sort of.

I finished the main text a while ago, but there are appendices and stuff and I didn't want to declare myself done with the book until after I'd read all of the content, and it took me quite some time to get around to reading the stuff at the back of the book.

I have lots of thoughts about it. Lots of interesting ways of playing with the medium, but I'm not sure how I feel about it overall. Parts of it were certainly effective, though I would have liked a more concrete conclusion to Johnny Truant's story.

The thing is, the stuff that I found unsatisfying kind of makes me think "Well maybe I just didn't get it, and making those parts more clear would have meant dumbing down the text."

But at the same time, I like being able to have uncertainty in stories.

So, yeah. Lots of thoughts.

It's been ages since I first read that. I didn't really get what the big deal was, but everyone insisted it was creepy. I just thought the author spent too much time on being creatively cryptic.

Forgot to mention- it snowed this morning. For some reason. :|

I have to use Excel to make a graph for a class and it's reminding me why, when I was making my interest curve for TWWF, instead of having a computer generate it for me I painstakingly drew it in Paint, making sure the coordinates of my points fit my calculations, because that was EASIER.

And I'm back! Yay! *crashes on the floor* X_X

So, today I helped an old lady learn to speak some basic English. Also, some of my coworkers may or may not be involved with drugs and stuff.

My life is an anime.

So I played the Pre-Sequel and learned a few things.
1. FIRE LASERS FOR THE WIN.
2. Jakobs is awesome yet again!
3. NISHA IS DA BEST. (Even though I highly disapprove of her burning down orphanages, robbing nuns and killing puppies.)
4. I feel kind of sorry for Jack now. Kind of. He's still a Jerkass, though.

Also also, goddamn that's a lot of snow. Last night I passed four traffic accidents over the course of a five-minute drive, and it hasn't let up since then, I think.

Looks like you've been busy, End. We had one late night snow-scare, but it all cleared up by morning, if it stuck at all. Air's cold enough to see your breath, though, so I'll be surprised if it doesn't snow once before Thanksgiving break. This, plus all other looming end-of-semester shit leaves me not wanting to do anything for the sake of keeping comfortable just the slightest bit longer, but no dice. Only way to keep from failing this semester (which would fucking suck cause then I'd have to repeat a year just to graduate properly) is to get off my ass and work on this shit. And I've got, what, four oral presentations, maybe two tests, a few quizzes, three papers... being a senior's hard. And I want to shoot myself in the foot for even considering moving on to get a Master's degree (and God-forbid I decide that wasn't punishing enough and go for a doctorate) but it's likely what I'll end up doing anyway. Because I just like learning that fucking much.

*sigh* Someone just shoot me now before I do something I regret.

As something to distract you, and also because I supposed I should share this video, Animator vs. Animation IV. Why do I think I should share it? Well, the original two Animator vs. Animation videos are where I got my username from. I didn't know the meaning of the word "Victim" by the time, but I thought it was neat and that it sounded similar enough to my name for me to use. Although, as I thought it was a name, not a word, I changed it to "Victin". I don't think I can say I'm feeling nostalgic right now, but that might be because my head hurts @_@

I just got cast in a voice acting project. It's a Fire Emblem: Awakening fanimation, so if you don't play those games, feel free just focus on the first sentence. Anyway, I got the role of Ricken, and depending on future auditions, I may possibly get other characters in later projects!

Crap. The exams are coming, I have a Media project to do, two assignments to hand in, a Science test that I DIDN'T REVISE FOR and I'm drowning in homework and I'M SO SCARED OH GOD.

So yeah, after finishing the last Hobbit movie, I'm going to FINALLY read the Lord of the Rings.

I'm also in the process of watching An Unexpected Journey and mourning for, er, a certain dwarf at the same time. I mean, it had to happen as part of Sauron's ploy, but damn that was tearjerking.

Okay, guys, I just needed to rant about something really quick that's actually pissing me off quite a bit.

I start school again on Monday, the 5th of January. Today is the 30th, so I've got less than a week. Due to issues this time last year, I have a book that I bought a year early for a class I couldn't take at the time but will be taking this semester, so I've been looking for it. After a few days of looking, I don't find it, so I pull up a picture of it so that my mom can see it and tell me if she's seen it and, if not, help me look for it. She gets off on me for leaving it so late and, okay, I'll admit that it is a bit later than usual and it's a bit irresponsible of me to only ask her now, since this stuff takes a while to order, but I tell her that I haven't left it too late and she then helps me look.

After practically gutting the house, we haven't found it, and she's pissed cause it means ordering a new one. The last place to look is in her room. Guess where it fucking is. And then, when she pulls it out, she practically tosses it at me, ranting again about how late I left it and who has to find it for me? I didn't say anything except thank you and then went to hide in my room but what I would never have the self control to say to her face without cursing my head off is this: Of course I didn't fucking find it if it's in her room! What the fuck is my textbook doing in her room? And she's mad because I couldn't find it!? I NEVER put anything in her room! It was in her room because she fucking put it there!

And I can't even say this shit to her because if I make even one comment that even remotely sounds like something she doesn't want to hear, she guilt trips me over disrespecting her, even if I clearly didn't mean it that way. In this situation, it is very much disrespectful to curse her out, no matter how deserved it may or may not be, so my own conditioning as a loving, respectful daughter makes me hold my tongue.

And don't get me wrong - I love my mother. We get along great most of the time! That just makes it worse when shit like this happens and I can't even try to point out why I'm mad without her taking it the wrong way. *exhales violently and goes to try and calm down*

It's okay, Kari, you can rant at us all you need to. No guilt-trips whatsoever.

Feel free to rant. It's better. Many, many, times, I was going to take my anger out on my parents whenever they did something similar, but my conscience is loud,very noisy and concerned for my well-being.
