Follow Eli's advice.

My advice was to make them eat their own teeth, which is what I'm doing to some random Death Eater right now while Sauron suplexes Voldemort into the ground, but it's technically illegal and you shouldn't do it.

But seriously, follow Eli's advice. It worked for me when I had to deal with a particularly annoying dumbass who thought he was gay and kept on hitting on me.

Now he doesn't talk to me. At all.

Thing is, being polite or candid doesn't work. I flat out told her that I don't like her and that I want to be left alone. She doesn't care. I hang out in the lounge of my dorm because my roommate keeps the room too cold for me to be comfortable (and staying under four layers of blankets all day the same way I sleep at night is impractical and makes me not wanna get work done). No one really uses the lounge, so I have a modicum of privacy and comfort while not having to leave the dorm for it.

Thing is, this girl (whose name I don't even know, that's how little I care about her) made friends with someone who lives in my dorm, so now whenever she visits her friend, she comes to the lounge. I'm fine with people coming into the lounge - it's a public place, regardless of how comfortable I am. But instead of letting me ignore her, she tries to make me her business, and tries harder every time she finds me in there.

Further, we're dancing together for a Kwanzaa thing next Saturday. Thanks to this unfortunate connection, she now calls us "sisters." She'll probably keep it up long after Kwanzaa's over. It was only last night that I really lashed out at her (verbally, since physically would very much get me in trouble and it would be my fault regardless of how provoked I was), but it's gonna be a long semester if I don't find some way to get her off my back.

Set her car on fire. :D

No, but seriously, if I were in your shoes, I'd just break it to her gently that she's kinda annoying me. I tend to be direct like that. :|

In that case, make it clear to her, and to anyone around her, that you are very much so not "sisters" and participating in the same event does not make you "sisters".

If she tries to make you her business, fine. She can do that. You can ignore her. Other than that...

You can change locations, avoiding her entirely. Or you can start convincing other friends to come study with you. It's a lot easier to ignore people when you've got another person backing you up.

Barring all that, yeah... Public humiliation is inadvisable. Bullying is something that I don't think would solve the situation, and while she's being a jerk, you don't have to return the favor until after she hits your last nerve.

But hey, we're here, and we don't call you sister (unless you want to be called sister then of course we will)

Of course, I can't offer advice on this particular case... Mainly because my line up of options at that point aren't nice and it's not a good idea to encourage bad behavior, not it would be nice to you all to glimpse at that particular sector of my thoughts. #AMindIsATerribleThingToRead

Couldn't resist the urge to throw up the joke, though. Hopefully that lightens the mood enough for at least a smirk. :)

Wear earphones connected to nothing and don't respond when she asks what song you're listening to. Works wonders for people who try to get me to sign petitions when I'm at school. Not sure how useful it will be with this person but ya never know.

So Rebornica posted her last FNAF comic a while ago. She's passing on the AU to someone else. She's been getting lots of death threats.

I hate group projects. I hate them with a fiery passion. And this one, the one I'm forced to do, already started off on the wrong foot - we are a four student group, but one girl hasn't shown up to class since the damn project started (only giving a couple emails at the start thanking us for doing the work - and I haven't heard from her for at least a week, maybe two), and one who showed up for one class and no others, and hasn't been replying to emails either. The last has done some of the work, but refuses to do a good chuck (aka, her portion) of it all.

I've done nearly everything. It sounds egotistical. It sounds spiteful. But it is very, very true. And thing is, if I stop, then we all suffer, because they aren't doing shit and the grades count for all of us til the very end, when we turn in individual portfolios. I want to cry, because for all intents and purposes, I'm doing the work of three and a half people (the last girl doing maybe half a person's work, honestly) and hating every second of it.

God, I really need a drink. Seriously. Sorry to those of you who don't agree with drinking and disapprove of me touching the stuff, but if I come across anything alcoholic during or soon after this shit's over, I'm most likely gonna drink myself into a stupor.

Alcohol is one of the worst drugs one can turn to. Try hugs instead. *hugs*

(maybe try complaining to the instructor?)

I'm pretty much against alcohol on any level, but only for myself though. It's your choice to drink and I should not have any say in it unless you're seriously endangering yourself in the process (which you kinda already are, but at least it's not as bad as smoking)

But moving on to the topic of the group project, I can completely understand why you are so annoyed. While any group project I've been in has been at a decent equal level, there's always someone that barely or doesn't do any work at all and to have that times 3 is terrible.

Like Endless suggested, try talking to the instructor about the situation so you can put your foot down on the issue.

This happened to me too. One did some work, but the other two...DID NOT.

I had to carry the fucking group on my back. Result: Them on Tumblr, me working my ass off to produce a decent iMovie about climate change.

Then I forget to print something, and the girl doing it puts on her Alpha Bitch attitude.

I refuse to talk to her goddamn face to this day.

I'm just so tired. I'm not actually gonna drink myself into a stupor regardless of whether or not I get a hold of any alcohol, but the thing is that I want to, and I don't normally go about wanting to drink. That's how stressed I am. Complaining to the teacher will only do so much, because If getting all passive-aggressive ("FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT'S HOLY, REPLY TO THE FUCKING EMAIL" says my inner id) when I try to contact them doesn't work, there's not much else the teacher can do. No teacher looks up their students' dorm rooms, finds their way in, and beats them into doing their work. Life doesn't work that way.

And what I hate as well is that this is supposed to be the work of four people. The final product is supposed to look like four people combined their talents and made something more than one person could do by herself. This won't come even close, because we've got one person doing most of the writing, another doing some halfhearted editing so that she can claim she did something, and two who may very well get pissed if it doesn't turn out well (though God help me, if anybody gets on me for accidentally turning in yesterday's projects late I'm gonna slap somebody so hard their great-grandmother will crawl up from the ashes and ask their descendent what the hell they did to piss me off so much - I'm a patient person, but you don't pull that shit on me...).

At the very least, ask the teacher what he or she can do, so you don't have to deal with this shit on your own. If nothing else, at least you'll be able to give an excuse.

In one engineering class, I had a project that should have been fun, but turned out to only be painful.

We were supposed to be in groups of four, but the class couldn't split evenly that way, so I was in a group of three.

One member of the group had to drop out for the quarter because he was having medical problems. Then it was a group of two. (I really wish I'd gone to the instructor at that point and asked to be reassigned so each of us was in a group of five, because that would have been so much more reasonable.)

The last group member I had? Didn't show up for class most of the time. When she did show up, she was at least half an hour late. Which meant that the few times she was in class, she missed the beginning portion of the class where we had the chance to ask the instructor to clarify project guidelines or for advice on how to get around problems we'd encountered.

Even when we had three people, I was the only one with a car, so I was the only one going out and getting supplies. Which my partner would cheerfully take from me (without ever reimbursing me for the money I'd spent) and use, but according to different guidelines than I thought we'd agree on, with the result that she ruined a lot of supplies that I'd paid for. Since we were all starving students, I was really hurt by the sense that she was throwing my money away.

She would also argue with me about the project guidelines, instead of just letting me decide how to interpret them. Despite the fact that she wasn't showing up to class. And then when I refused to leave her with supplies and the my glue gun over Thanksgiving break, she whined that I didn't trust her. (My thought was "Damn right I don't trust you!")

There's, uh, not a good ending to this story. The project turned out horribly, because I didn't do enough to pull it all together with no help, and I didn't even realize I wouldn't be able to use the parts my partner was making until a few days before it was due. All I learned was that the next time I wind up with a "group" consisting of only half the people who are meant to be working on a project, I'm going to raise a fuss until I'm assigned to a group with enough people that it might be possible to complete the project.

So yeah, group projects suck and other people ruin everything.

...Well, that little bedtime story didn't inspire much confidence. :?

Thing 1 and Thing 2 have been kicked out of the project, for all intents and purposes. The last is better at attendance than the b*tch you were saddled with, thankfully, and she does do some stuff. Hopefully I won't be completely left hanging by the end. Not getting my hopes up, though. We'll see by the end of March.

No, it was just sort of decided that since they haven't done anything, they can't claim anything about the project. I haven't seen or heard from them in ages, but you can bet that I'll have a hard time not being violent if I do end up seeing either of them at this point.

Fun Fact: I don't even know what the first girl looks like. Isn't that great? :x
