Obsessive Compulsive Behavior

Postby Pixelmage on Sun Sep 15, 2013 3:52 pm

Things are looking like this:
STATISTICS
Total posts 49744 • Total topics 857 • Total members 220 • Our newest member ALoneFox

So, the purpose of this topic is to make it so that we have an even total number of topics. But that would bump the number of posts to an odd number, so, someone needs to make one more post to make everything even and nice looking and divisible by 2... You know, because it's only logical to keep things even and balanced.

This is in no way a demonstration of obsessive behavior.
When in doubt, #BlameEli.

So, apparently I'm the sanest madman this side of the international date line. Seems legit.

AND NOW IT'S DIVISIBLE BY TEN! :D
Normal people are the easiest to manipulate. Too smart and they have an annoying tendency to catch wind of your plans, too dumb and, in the words of a certain pirate, "You can never tell when they are about to do something incredibly...stupid."

We need two more topics though, so all of them are divisible by ten.

But now both our total topics number and members number end in 1 D: Nooooooo!

I think you are missing the point. Five more to go...

You guys have to learn to let go. I used to be obsessed with such things too. Always putting the volume on my television on an even number. Cutting my food into equal bites. Literally eating a bite from each side to make my food symmetric.

I forced myself out of it just to make myself think out of the box I put myself in - took a different number of steps across each piece of identical sidewalk. Wouldn't hunt an extra nook in a level to force my ammo count to share a multiple with my score. Stuff like that.

Though I suppose this means I trolled myself.
I smiled when the wall was built, for I knew we were creating something incredible. And I smiled when it cracked, for the world would soon see what we had wrought.

Who doesn't do that? Personally I try to put it on a multiple of five, usually a multiple of ten, but only when the TV shows numbers. If it's just a bar or something I put it on wherever I feel it's good.

Yeah, I have a hard time leaving the volume at, say, 19 instead of 20.

I constantly reuse my name Jon for any role play character I make. I've been making some minor effort to fix it though

Every character I do in a war story, I give them the same gun.

I like to switch knives at the dinner table.

I use the blue line, not the white one, on the Internet.

It isn't exactly obsessive-compulsive, but I keep all of my media tabs on a separate window, organized by media format, and then again by chapter/episode. It just looks better.
Apparently, slightly less weird than most of you.

Guys! Guys! This is not a thread for discussing our obsessive-compulsive behaviour; it's one for indulging our obsessive-compulsive behaviour by making sure we have things like nice round post counts. I'm only posting this now so that we'll have a lovely 50050.
Lead by example. Get lost in a swamp.

I want the number of posts to be a multiple of 1000... :(
Why should we do the right thing?
-Well... because it's the right thing to do, there's no other good reason.

Am I a bad guy trying to be good, or a good guy trying to convince himself that he's not the bad guy?

But 1000 times 50.055 is 50055!

Well, 1000 times 50.056 now but elephants.

There are currently 888 topics. Either NO ONE MUST CREATE ANY NEW TOPICS, or SOMEONE MUST CREATE 111 NEW TOPICS AT ONCE.
