So by now you guys have kind of sort of gotten an idea for your characters, so for the next step of this, I would like you guys to post up your characters here, giving some brief information on them. This will be helpful for me if there is any information I want your character to be aware of before the game starts.

The information I'd like is:

Their Name
Which of the three regions they are from
Age
Race
Class
And if you've come up with some stuff about your character like, personality, their job, their past or why they want to go to the islands, feel free to write it down. This might be useful because if there is something you have in mind, we can make sure it doesn't contradict whatever I have planned, and it allows me to figure out things your character would be aware of.

I'd also like to mention how the game will be starting, if that helps. Basically you all took boat rides from your respective regions to a half-way check point, where the passengers from all the regions converged onto a second boat that is heading for the main islands. So the game starts with you guys enroute to the islands, so don't have your characters back-stories involve already being there.

Okay, well, guess I'll get this ball rolling.

Name: Ursa Voynich (stage name “Aurora” )
From: Lorelai
Age: 22
Race: Human
Class: Sorcerer

At first glance, Ursa appears to be mostly dazzle. Working as a performing artist and dancer, buying her way, from place to place, she never settles, has no known family, and possesses a casual attitude to her work. A Sorcerer of the Maestro bloodline, she has embraced her skills and magical ability as a means of entertainment and performance, although deep down she harbours a secret fear of being driven crazy by her own talents, such a fear is probably common amongst sorcerers. This is probably partly why she refuses to take anything too seriously.

Ursa refers to specialise in light and ice based magic (who's surprised? :P) and uses such effects in her performances to create dazzling light shows, hence her choice of stage name, Aurora (because come on, who’s going to go see an exotic travelling dancer with the name Ursa?)

Ursa is uninterested in political affairs and generally treats everyone the same way, be they high class nobles, or street rats. This can sometimes lead to trouble. In battle she can be rash and impetuous and doesn’t always think things through before acting, relying on her wit and charisma to get her out of most pickles.

Name: Dirk Lestat
From: Geldoblame
Age: 29
Race: Human
Class: Rogue

One of the heirs to the wealthy Lestat fortune, Dirk was less interested in running the family business and more interested in the art of the sword and the swindler. His uncle taught him everything he knew - before he ran afoul of some of the shadier businessmen at work in the Geldoblame capital. Dirk found his uncle murdered, and wound up taking the fall for the crime. He was summarily disinherited, and even when evidence exonerating him was unearthed, his family sent him in disgraced exile to the Moerae islands, with an unwritten imperative - come back with riches for the Lestats, or don't come back at all.

Dirk has no love for the games of the aristocracy, but he is mildly well-versed in the rules. He much prefers the side streets or the wilderness, where the "action" is. He talks little, and prefers to go around problems rather than through.

Name: Rishcodish
From: Geldoblame
Age: Who the heck can tell (but probably about 25-26)
Race: Half-orc
Class: Fighter

Rishcodish has a huge chip on her shoulder. She grew up on the fringes of a mostly human society-- surrounded by orcs and half-orcs who were mostly despised and looked down on by the human majority for being, supposedly, Always Chaotic Evil.

Although she hates humans, a lot, she's decided to go travelling in human society and do stuff to MAKE A POINT that she can be a half-orc and not evil.

First, I apologize for not getting this up sooner: the website listing the legal feats for folks to take.

http://paizo.com/prd/feats.html

Qara, since you're a fighter, you get to take two feats, one of which must be a Combat feat (which is conveniently labeled next to each such feat in the description section). This probably won't be too hard; remember that feat Weapon Focus (to make you better at hitting things with your orcish double axe) I mentioned? That's a Combat feat.

Scarab, you get to take two feats because you're human, and you don't have any restrictions outside of your stats for which feat to take. Woo, humanity!

Meanwhile, I'm a stinking elf. Only one feat for me, because my other feat was spent to acquire the magical ability to fart cinnamon (little known fact: all elves do).

For who I am:

Name: Kerisho Mitrilol
From: Etria
Age: 142
Race: Elf
Class: Bard

Kerisho comes from a long line of historians, and he certainly knows a bit about the days of yore, when even the elves were young and child-like. In fact, he romanticizes those days a bit much in the minds of the other elves, who think that he holds on a bit too much to whimsy and should instead settle down to be a historian like the others in his clan. With all the information at the great libraries of Etria at his fingertips, how could Kerisho choose to walk away from it all?

Little did anyone of the Mitrilol clan know, he was walking away even before he had reached elven adulthood - he would sneak into town, hearing the stories passed around at inns and hostels, hearing about the living histories of many races as they got to experience both the relics of the past in a much more vibrant way than the historians ever did as well as the additions that everyone's actions made to the record each day.

Just as he was inspired, Kerisho snuck off in the middle of the night to gain new tales, see history and hold it in his own hands, and hopefully inspire a love of knowledge like the one granted unto him.

So by now I've sent all of you some background information on your respective homelands. This information may have some relevance during the campaign, but for the most part, it's just to help you/compliment how you've defined your characters. Thankfully, what I had in mind for most of these places worked out perfectly with how you thought up your characters ;)

With that in mind, I'm going to begin constructing the first of hopefully many sessions, and you guys just need to wrap up/finalize your character sheets. Since we're getting close to January I think it's time to start talking dates/times between the five of us to do this thing. Rick's a working man, and has a baby, so odds are weekdays won't be easy to work with, but we also have to worry about doing things too late, because Scarab is 5 hours of head of us. I'll simply list what days would be best for me, and you guys do the same, and we'll work from there. I am willingly to make changes to my schedule if I absolutely have to, though I'd prefer not to.

I'd be free to do this session on:

Monday (any time)
Tuesday (any time)
Wednesday (around 4 my time, 9 scarabs)
Thursday (any time)
Sunday (Around 5 my time)

I could technically do these on Friday or saturday, but on both those days I have work till around 4:30-5pm AND I start work around 8-9 am. I would like to avoid playing this game till late, and then needing to go to work early in the morning (early for me, anyway)

As for When in January, pretty much any part of the month, I'm not going anywhere so I'll be free for whats best for you guys.

Okay, I'm out of town for the first two days of January, and Fridays and Saturdays are officially off the cards for me, unless it's sufficiently late on a Saturday (like after 6 pm at the very earliest)

Mondays I'm probably freest-- other than January 13th, I'm free until about 2 pm (which might still be useless because other people, but it's something).
Any other day of the week, assuming we're doing this on voice I'm tied to when I'm home from class--
Tuesday (varies, but not until after 6 pm earliest)
Wednesday (not until after 8:30 pm earliest, so probably useless because Scarab)
Thursday (not until after 6 pm earliest)
Sunday any time because I don't have class on sundays, yay.

My best days are Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday, when I don't have classes or other preexisting commitments. I'm open every evening after probably 6 my time (which is almost certainly too late for Scarab), and every morning until about 11 (which is probably too early for Rick).

If it's too difficult, we can instead hold abrreviated sessions and have them just be like 2 hour things, that way even if we start late we're not playing until the early morning

I think we might end up with Sundays, here, seems the most likely time for all of us including Rick but better check with him first.

Sorry; holiday travel distracted me.

As noted, I have a 9-5, Monday through Friday job, so that keeps me until 6 most weekdays. I also run my own session on Fridays, so that's right out.

Sunday would be ideal; depending on the time, I may game with Zoë in my lap, if anyone minds.

Not at all. Sunday is workable for me, but I do have work until 4:30, so we'll likely start around 5:00 to 5:30, with a small break for when I have dinner with the family.

With this in mind, since Scarab is five hours ahead, we'll probably not have any super long sessions when we play. We'll keep it to like, 2 to 3 hours a session? We'll see how the first one goes for deciding how often we do this, as well.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN 'IF ANYBODY MINDS'?? Why in the name of god's green earth would any of us mind? :D

Oh, hey, just realized - going over my build for the character sheet, I need to know how we're handling wealth. Are we going to randomly generate starting wealth, or is there a number of gold pieces you want us starting with, Adell?

I had everyone else roll for it, so just roll gold for level 1 bard and use that for your pre game shopping :3

So after having a nightmare that I did terrible as a DM and disappointed everyone, I'm just about ready to try and prove myself wrong as much as possible

Just a final reminder, we'll be shooting to start playing some time tomorrow around 5:30/6:00 pm EST (around 10:30 to 11 pm for Scarab) and will be running till around 9 or 10 pm EST.

The five of us will be communicating through Dolby Axon (once all of you friend me, adellredwinters, I'll invite you to a chat I made), and that should just about be the only outside program you need. We will also be playing using a website that allows for drawing, but it is browser based and requires no downloading. There are several browser based dice-rolling websites you can use Such as this one if you need it, but if you actually own the dice required to play you can use those too. You WILL need either the real dice or the virtual ones, so if you'd rather use some other dice program, I suggest getting it before we play. We're going off the honor system, so no cheating please :)

We also expressed interest in streaming or recording this in some way, yus? I'd be willing to stream it if you guys would like me to, though if recording is preferred I'd like to hear some suggestion as to how we would do that. (Hint, the less stuff any of us have to download the better the suggestion haha)

One last thing, since I've seen it on both Rick and Jack's character sheets. We won't be using action points. I'm sorry if you guys are use to using them, but in the pathfinder games I've played we never used them and those games have gone fine, and I really would prefer we just didn't, as it's what I know. There's enough game mechanics to keep us busy haha.

Also, the singing went over well. We might have to stream warm-ups; only Jack got to hear me cover Stacy's Mom.
