Adventures on the Solar Rail

So, I would like to preface this by saying that it is all Mimsy's fault.

Now that pointing the finger of blame is out of the way, I'll explain something useful. So, Mimsy uncovered an interesting early access Steam game, a free-to-play MMO known as Warframe, which he has now convinced both Endless and myself to play.

I'm sure some of you saw his stream of the game a while back, but for those who didn't, and haven't heard us talking about it on the chat, Warframe is a game about running around the solar system in the distant future. Humanity may or may not be extinct, and are known as the Orokin Precursors. You play a person from a race called the Tenno, who were once humans and apparently were changed by their time in this place called the Void. Now, they are master warriors who use suits of powered armor called warframes to dominate the battlefield. You go through the game collecting weapons and warframes so that you can fight the three different factions filling the solar system. The Grineer are the most numerous, and their ranks are composed of degenerating multi-generation clones of humanity, their genetically-damaged body parts replaced with cyborg technology. They are ruled by a set of queens, and are ruthless, xenophobic, and sort of space nazis. The Corpus are also a common sight. They are the operators and maintainers of the solar rail system, the main method of transportation. They worship machines, especially those left behind by the Orokin, and they have their indoctrination temples on Neptune, their main base. In addition, they are a mega-corp and their officers have an obsession with credits only surpassed by the Corpus obsession with machines. Finally, there are the twisted Infested, the victims of the Technocyte Plauge... aw who am I kidding? They're space zombies, OK?

As for gameplay, it's a Third-Person Shooter mainly focused around four person coop against the AI. General style changes wildly depending on what warframe you are piloting, as each warframe's special abilities can make large differences in how you approach things. Here is, however, a glimpse of things you can do. And by that, I mean that everything in that trailer is a thing you can do. As to what thing I do... well, it's in there. Take a guess.

Anyhow, I've started this thread, obviously, to see if other people on TWWF want to join our little group. At least one more person would be great, because then we would have a full set of four. However, anyone is welcome to drop in, and if you do join, let me know and I'll get you an invite to our clan. Despite being made of only three people, we have, through an immense amount of farming and resources, already managed to get an extremely large secret clan base built, something that in most games, only the really large clans have.

So, anyone interested?

At last, my Orokin Catalyst is complete! Now to figure out what I want to put it in. My Galatine could use more space, but then again, I'd probably get better results if I had higher-tier mods on one of my Warframes or rifles...

Ooh, that reminds me- finally got another copy of Serration today, among other things! Wasn't even expecting it to show up that time, but it did, and now it's almost as kickass as my first copy. yaaaay~
