Suggestions and Recommendations

Postby Victin on Sat Feb 01, 2014 10:24 pm

Movies? Animes? Music? Comics? Something else you want people to know about? Or are you looking for something new but doesn't know what to pick? This thread for you!

*coughs* Ahem! Now that the store clerk talk's done, I'd like to ask for music recommendations. I have a few already written down that I want to put on my phone, sorted by folders, but I want more! Suggestions and recommendations?
Dolphins are some of the smartest animals, yes, but by human standards… Let's say you should praise the god that forces them to stay handless and underwater.

I'm not so sure about what to recommend for music, as I'm not that savvy. I like what music I like but nothing too huge. Though if I had to recommend something, I'd say the songs of fun. or Imagine Dragons are pretty catchy.

As for what I'm recommending to any one of you;

Anime: Haruhi Suzumiya, Steins;Gate, Puella Magi Madoka Magica
TV: Community, Sherlock, Anything by Joss Whedon, Spaced, Arrested Development
Movies: The Godfather Trilogy, Tron and Tron Legacy, The Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy, The Avengers, Pacific Rim.
Comics: Anything Deadpool, Scott Pilgrim
Webshows: RWBY, Red vs Blue, Stupid Mario Brothers, Youtube News, MyMusic, Most Popular Girls in School
JRPictures.
Going Meta since 2010.

I'm not sure if game recommendations are appropriate here, but I have some I'd like to give.

Collectively, these games are all part of the Creeper World series. Now, there's actual games that you can pay for that apparently have a metric ton of levels to play through, and much more in-depth story, but I've never really been tempted to buy them, and the flash versions work just fine. The rough order is as I've posted them, but they can sort-of be played in any order (though Evermore is basically a set of seven randomly generated levels, with a new one every day). They're a wonderfully addictive fusion of RTS and Tower Defense that works really well, and can be quite strategic for how simple the gameplay is. Fair warning though, the levels can take at least a half-hour to beat even if you have fast-forward on (though the game timer also speeds up so you get to see how long it would have taken at normal speed).
