Forum Mafia: Round 2

Anything goes.

I should point out that if you're planning to use forum polls later on in the game, then by default phpBB won't allow people to change their vote. I can change that option if we want, though; I can also allow it but restrict it to a specific forum. Maybe this is a good time to be making a "Forum Games" subforum?

Alternatively, I could change it for the whole site, but that might be confusing. Either way, we should probably make sure we turn out to be consistent about whether changing votes will be allowed or not!

[edit: Come to think of it, the other issue with forum polls is that to make them you need to start new topics for each one. Do we want to do that for each day phase of Mafia?]

A work around would be logging the result of the round's vote into the post itself and editing the poll's options and votes back to fresh. It wouldn't be different from what we're doing right now, except it'd allow for easier voting and tracking of votes.

That said, currently only mods can create and edit polls. It could be more flexible if any user could create one, and only the topic creator and moderators could edit it, similar to how it already is for posts themselves, but I'm not sure how feasible it would be to enable this forum-wide or even in any specific subforum.

In the case of enabling poll usage for normal users, I'd say keep it from being a forum-games subforum and just stick to Off Topic for it. Should Forum Games reach critical mass to demand its own folder, it could be under Off-topic, inheriting the same poll-enabled permissions.

Also, cap of 10 options inherently limits things like being able to put one poll up right now. I'm not sure if the cap is editable, however. Or how feasible it is to change it, if it is possible to change.

/Thinking out loud.

(Not changing my vote by the way.)

At this point, I would love to change my vote just so that we can build up a clear leader, but the problem is that I'm ALREADY voting for someone who's tied for the most votes. And the one tied with them is me. And I want to live.

So there's not really any action I can take right now other than to keep my vote where it is and wait and watch.

Mostly I changed so that there was only one person voting for themselves, so I'll change my vote back. Halfway to majority again. ^^

I am kinda tempted to off Sicon just to be on the safe side. Then again, if he's innocent, his planning would prove invaluable.

Hmmm.
  • If Sicon is innocent, we probably win.
  • If Sicon is mafia, we probably lose.
  • If Sicon is dead, we may still win.

UPD: I checked the first post, and turns out that we have a tie (as you've probably noticed by now :( ). We have one more vote to be a possible tiebreaker, and it's Xana's. If we don't decide, no one dies, and, as counter-intuitive as it seems, it's bad for us.

So, in an attempt to form some kind of consensus, I'm going to change my vote from narra to Tohr. Let's get this lynching over with so I can make sure I didn't leave the oven on.

Russ seems awfully wishy washy. She's obviously suspicious.

Mathematically, his vote no longer matter.

Uhm... This totals all of the votes in this day round... It would seem Tohr is getting lynched.

This is a surprising turn of events... I might have to recalculate my shenanigans to take this into account... :ugeek:

Hm. Considering that all votes have been cast, I'm issuing a soft deadline of 24 hours from when Xana cast his vote. I might push it back if there's enough vote changes, but it's not going beyond the hard deadline of 1 week after Day begins.

Welp, that's that then.

Tohr has been lynched. She was on the side of the Town.

Would someone just post a bloody gender list already? Otherwise I'll decide that everyone here is a girl.

That's the reason we'll always have October 15.

We do already have a gender thread, however, it isn't neatly listed because that would detract from the fun of telling people to drink upon wrong assumptions and typos alike.
