Watch the Footage

So after a rather fruitful discussion with Scarab and eli on Twitter about writing and some of the processes I go through, I thought it might be neat to expand on that and do a roundtable discussion on that. Since I'm sure folks will be curious about other things, I guess some elements of an AMA can be in there as well - I suspect at least some discussion will involve tabletop role-playing (it ties into writing for me, at least). So here's the details for those interested:

When: Saturday, August 16, 2014, around noon (variable depending on when 33_Footsteps goes down for her nap)
Where: On Dolby Axon - I'm rickeh32 there.
How long?: Depends on how long of a nap the kid takes... though if the last couple of weekends have been an indication, at least two hours is likely.
Why: Because I really should have done something like this a while ago.

Hmm sounds very interesting. Looks I'll have to redownload Dolby Axon and figure out where exactly that time lands for me in Australia.

It was fun. Rick recorded it, I believe. So anyone who wasn't around will be able to listen to fun things.

Wait, what's roundtable and AMA?

It was fun. I discussed how I approach writing characters, about how AOL Instant Messenger was critical in my life, the most cliche true story I know, the downside of ARG brainstorming with you guys, and things my cats to to me with their thumbs.

I have to go over the recording to make sure it came out; I'll find a place to share it once I do.

Well, I was just giving my opinion on how it went. A roundtable is an open discussion where everyone should feel like an equal. An AMA is an "ask me anything" - all questions are fair game. Heck, one of the questions I answered even got an explanation on how I can answer questions in the most aggravating way possible.

A roundtable is when people can have a casual conversation with a speaker, and an AMA (ask me anything) is to allow Rick and whoever was there to have the best possible learning experience via questions and answers, rather than a lecture.
