Weird things.

Anything goes.

Weird things.

I didn't know if this was supposed to be off topic or not, but I was thinking since this site is based solely off theories and discussing the strange and unusual. That we oughta share our own experiences. Now this could be anything from hearing strange noises, to seeing lights in the sky. Even probably the one and a million chance of meeting a dead celebrity.

I met Slenderman once. Me and him are bros now. He even joined my secret club. :3

Naw, but seriously, my life is pretty normal in that sense, so I guess I don't have much to say of use haha :)

You must have something man, even if you thought you were seeing things it still counts.

I thought I saw Grizabella from CATS come out of a wall in my classroom. It was clear I was the only one who could see her and she disappeared right back into the wall a second later. But this was during my senior year and I graduated over a year ago. D:

I tend to have recurring dreams involving trains. I think this is just because I liked going on trains as a kid. Do recurring dreams count as weird?

I also remember having one of those waking-dreams when I was about... twelve or so? Not lucid dreaming, really, it was just like I was asleep for just a few seconds and actually managed to dream in those seconds, even though usually you have to get to stage 4 REM to do that? I went from being in bed, to being on the floor of my room - it even felt like carpet, and some kind of weird muppet-like thing on the other side of the room looking at me, one of those ones where the puppet's head is almost entirely round and split into a wide mouth along the middle? I think I said hello, and it started snapping it's jaw at me and I was so freaked out I woke right up.

It must've left an impression if I still remember it all these years later, I guess. Certain puppet-based shows still bother me. But then I guess a lot of people are freaked out by puppets.

Is it that obvious? XD Mostly because we didn't go on them very often, I think, so it was kind of a treat.

But yeah, that is really weird.

And still kinda freaks me out to think of :(

I think the point is that everyone is about to be run over by a giant steam engine a la asdf movie.

Oh... Right.

We will all die the way we lived -racing into metaphorical dark tunnels without knowing exactly what we're going into or what might be coming at us from the other side.

Recurring dreams are often a symbol of a lost memory or a symbol of destiny in the standard form. A train is a transport, and depending on the track lining and the locomotive, it goes either both ways or one way.

Really? Huh. The lost memory thing would probably make sense when you think about just how much we must forget over our lives that might still be there tucked away somewhere. Maybe my destiny was to come along and then make a bad train related pun which resulted in the linking of the 'Yeah' button to the forum. In which case, job done.

So, um... if I start having those dreams after browsing these forums, should I panic? :?

I tend to get dreams of events that happen in the future. It's very mild, very unexciting (I once had a dream of a girl taking a drink from a water fountain. Yeah.), and I never remember the dreams until the event is happening, but it's still cool. I say it's ESP, but it's not very 'extra,' is it?
The voices in my head tell me that we saved the world. However, they also told me that George Clooney's face is on the dollar bill, so... meh. The voices are more fun, anyway.

Why do you guys get cool dreams? Any dream I remember tends to be incredibly mundane, if I remember them at all!

Well, sometimes, when entering a conversation, I suddenly know exactly what everyone will say and how they will react, and I get this massive sense of dejavu, along with a really clear mental image of me going through the event in my memories, but then the moment the conversation ends or the topic changes, the feeling vanishes and I can't ever remember quite where it came from; if it was because something similar happened, or a dream, or what.

The dreams that I remeber are either nightmares or lucid dreams, but I don't control them exactly. I know (subconsciously) that I am dreaming and I "say" what I want in the dream, but I have no control over myself. But, being I that control how the dream goes on, the plot makes sense, in its own twisted and weird way.

That's pretty neat. I think it's likely that a lot of instincts and gut feelings we get about things like that actually come down to experiences we've had that we subconsciously remember, but actively don't recall on the surface. This is probably also why some people's gut instincts about a situation play out in their favour and others end up being completely wrong - because it depends on what the outcome was for the original event they can't recall.

Either that or we all need to start analysing our dreams now and darn, we're up to our necks in analysing tropes, characters and events as it is.

What part of 'a girl getting a drink from a water fountain' said 'cool dream' to you?

I think they mean they dream it happening and then it did the next day was cool. The event itself is dull. (Some people I know say they have completely mundane dreams of them doing perfectly ordianry everyday things - like being at work, or something. Not even any singing frogs or flying bananas or anything.)

I often consider lucid dreams to be a bridge between one world to another. Think about it, the more aware of our dreams we get the more real it seems no matter how weird it is.

I don't recall ever having a lucid dream before. But I'm guessing that if you're aware of dreaming while dreaming, then you're treading some kind of narrow line dividing your subconscious from your conscious. Who says you're not straddling a line between worlds, too? (Would dreams be the product of the Real world, or Fiction?)
