But I'm guessing that if you're aware of dreaming while dreaming, then you're treading some kind of narrow line dividing your subconscious from your conscious. Who says you're not straddling a line between worlds, too? (Would dreams be the product of the Real world, or Fiction?)

I can get control of my dreams more or less, though it does leave me annoyingly close to waking up, and seeing as I have enough trouble getting to sleep in the first place, I usually just let my mind do as it pleases. It does amuse me sometimes to start reality warping during a nap though.

My dreams are always incredibly strange and one or two have given me story ideas. I often realise I'm dreaming but I always wake up straight away :/

Me too. It's really frustrating, especially when you're having good dreams. Lucid dreams just seem to be a thing some people get and not others. Probably depends on your sleeping patterns, or something.

I was thinking of the train in your dreams Scarab. Sometimes transportations between worlds, be it real life examples of cross country travels: Planes, Trains, Boats and Cars; often help simply travels between worlds either in dreams or fictional settings. One person could dream of going to another world via portals and other complicated mediums, while another could just dream up a simple vehicles, like your train. Maybe it's trying to take you to the lucid levels of your dreams.

I never thought of it like that, though I probably should of, I mean, metaphors abound in dreams., I guess everyone's subconscious would imagine those kinds of journey's in different ways, Mine is a train, yours is probably something else entirely, yes?

I hope it's not all going to end with trainwrecks, metaphorical or otherwise :s

It's only gonna be a trainwreck if you crash the train.

As for mine it started out as a room full of doors, and the one important one guarded by my worst fear.

...I would not advise putting me behind the controls of a train, to be honest, metaphorical or otherwise. :?

So what did you do?

The first time I was afraid to do anything, the second time I had help from an unbelievable source, the third time I tore the damn fear apart since all it did now was make me angry.

Disguising fear as anger, or turning it into anger, seems as good a coping strategy as any. The help you had second time around -some person who gave you the push you needed to do what had to be done, maybe...

Did you find out what was on the other side of the door?

(NB: Sorry going off topic.)

Maybe reading this kinda put things in my head or something, but I had a lucid dream last night. It was strange, it was a very long dream and it wasn't until quite a way through that I realised I was dreaming. I immediately felt myself waking up but I managed to stay asleep. Unfortunately it wasn't a particularly interesting dream, I was just wandering around a building with people from my old school in. I also felt really strange all the way through, like I was half asleep (which I guess I was). I also forgot to do the one thing I wanted to try to do in a lucid dream which was fly . :|

Nice work on managing to stay asleep, though.

It was quite difficult at first, but after a bit I almost forgot I was dreaming again.

I just had a dream that predicted the plot of the next episode of this anime I'm watching. I mean, the scenes didn't line up, but the end result was the same. I think that's just genre savvyness though. It was pretty clear to me already what was going to happen.

On a side note, about dream-flying... it isn't all that it's cracked up to be. With few exceptions where I've actually gotten it to work, I'm mostly just on the edge of consciousness and semi aware of the real world, so the movement is kinda difficult. On top of that, my mind doesn't know what flying would really feel like, so it imagines part, and makes the rest a bit like swimming.

It is pretty cool if you can get it right. To get up to speed I usually have to imagine invisible rocket boosters or something pushing me forward, so visualization helps a lot.

Still, next time I'm gonna try remember to do it.

I have dreams in which a see a certain image or event that I'll know I saw in my dream but then a couple of days later, I SEE THE EXACT SAME THING I SAW IN MY DREAM. I also stop and note that, yes, this was in my dreams!

Do you guys think that's creepy or what?

Precognition, you can see the future 48 hours prior. Next time you wake up set a timer for that amount, maybe you could catch the next one before it happens.

And please, for the love of God, if you see Mister A, or a giant cracking wall of reality in there, let us know.
