My family grew up in the San Francisco area, so I've kind of inherited cheering for the Giants. (Better than cheering the freaking Mariners, anyway...) I'm kind of amazed how they pretty much just stomped on the Cards these last two games. The momentum's on their side at the moment, and game 7 really is the Giants' to lose.

I really hope that the Cards make it tonight. This truly hasn't been a great last two games, but as many baseball fans can see, they have pulled through.

AHHHHHHHH

9.

32.

I wish to not see them together again.

One fears to see a city in chaos if those numbers join again...

....Ooh ouch, I know nothing about baseball but I'm pretty sure the zero isn't good.
Don't freak, hun, your team will live to fight another day!

0 is bad. 0 is bad in just about every sport except golf, and a 0 in golf is impossible.

It's really sad, because the Cardinals were looking really solid for pretty much the entire year, and also for most of the LCS. I had written off the Giants after Game 4, because the Cards were looking that good. And then they just... choked.

*brohugs Finch* Cheer up, mate. If being an M's fan for 10 years has taught me anything, it's that there's always another year.

You two are grand examples of team loyalty and sticking by 'em no matter what. Be proud of your losses for you are still there to comisserate with them, and not turning your backs the second you have a bad run. Gurt would be proud.

Thanks guys.

You make a Cardinals Fan very happy.

Alright, we have to get thinking about the next game:
Giants vs. Tigers.

Who do you think will win and why?

Can't we discuss a decent sport like football (proper football, not handegg) or rugby?

There's plenty of room for that in a new thread.

I honestly have no idea why we use the same name for those two sports, they're clearly completely different.

Honestly? The Giants actually have a bit of an edge once. The Tigers dropped the '06 Series to the Cards in this exact same situation (coming off a sweep and waiting for the NLCS to finish all seven games). Obviously they have a different team this time, but the Giants are just on fire right now, and are performing amazingly well under pressure.

San Fran takes it in seven.

I grew up a Phillies fan. I don't really have a horse in this race; I'm just glad to see the Cardinals didn't make it - I did grow up rooting against them more often than not, before realignment.

I do know who I think will win, the Tigers. But I'm not emotionally invested in the outcome.

Final tally: 8 to 3, Giants' victory. Verlander got shelled; did not see that coming.
