Yeah, decided IP banning wasn't enough. Deleted it entirely.

Hey, someone finally noticed the face!

I was so incredibly tempted to lock and preserve that thread just for that picture. And then Sicon immortalized it for me. ^_^

You know, I should start using that image like everyone else on the internet uses weird images. If I don't want to respond to an argument, I just suddenly go:

Sure. It's ugly as hell. But... I don't get the memetic level it's getting. <-- (clueless)

It's just kind of off-putting the first time you see it. That's basically the formula for every screamer meme in existence.

Well, the good news is, we now have over 200 forum members.

The bad news is, I think a good 20 percent of them are Bots.
They sometimes say, "the place where I am right now was circled on a map for me"... Unfortunately, I kind of suck at orienteering.

We must make more threads so that the bots get lost in them. Problem solved. :D

Ok. I've said it in the chat, and I'll say it here.
  1. There is A TON of sites like that on the internet. Ergo:
    1. You can't be sure they are the ones spamming us.
    2. Even if you bring the whole site down, it won't change anything.
  2. These sites are mostly generated automatically and populated by spambots. Which brings us back to 1.2.
  3. None of us here can actually take a site down.
  4. If you want to battle spam, battle the spammers, not their hellspawns.

Laconic: YOU WILL BE SPAMMED, RESISTANCE IS FUTILE.
(Or we could change the captcha already. :x )

I know, AND I would like to battle spammers, but I think that actively trying to anger guys who have some dark-side specialists and botnets at their disposal is not the best course of action. They probably won't notice your humble crusade, but if they do, and they take it to heart... :?

I've noticed that I haven't seen a single spam post for the last few days. I've checked the captcha - well, there's no captcha now. :) Instead, you have to enter Joe's name. I'd say it's perfect, as long as this forum doesn't receive a spammer's personal attention (if he knows the answer, the forum is easily spammable).
Well... it works so far. :gurt:
