This user has frequented the Gulliver thread. She's a young girl who posted on Gulliver's blog some time ago, and called him stupid several times. When Gulliver arrived in Hawaii, he mentioned being approached by a girl who started hurling insults at him. We were all suspicious that this user and the girl were one and the same. She confirmed it on the forum today. We were all very curious about her, and one of us sent her a PM. The forum then sent an e-mail notification to the user's mother, who apparently doesn't like her going onto forums and blogs. Now it looks like the mother is posting in a very threatening way, having misinterpreted our intentions.

Tell her that we are just asking why she started hurling insults at Gulliver.

Any more suggestions?

I have a feeling this will be the last time we'll see her. I think she's been grounded from the computer for the rest of eternity.

Not exactly constructive behavior. Somebody should post a reply, I guess... I don't want to google-translate it back into Japanese, but it would be amusing. :gurt:

Ooer... who... does she actually THINK we are?

Also I am strongly edging towards not believing this kid is a real Metaguard. There are too many things that make me suspicious - the idea that she FOUND Gulliver? (meta: sorry I don't think these people HAVE a real world presence and Hawaii is BIG what were the odds of them being in the same kind of location? Just doesn't make sense. I think we're dealing with a GM construct here.

Of course now unfortunately she can't come here and defend herself against that accusation sicne as you say if she IS real then the poor kid's probably grounded until high school :|)

Well, we should convince her mom that we're not some weird pedobears, I guess. :|
And yes, "How did she find him" is my major point.

...wait a second. There was some Japanese metaguard somewhere around here, right? If (s)he is still here, we could use him/her to write a response.

Meta: If she isn't then they chose a very inconvenient artificial character - a kid who's mother thinks we're hitting on her daughter, who is twelve and doesn't even own a phone. If they were gonna meta somebody conveniently into existence in order to help tropers be in a place they couldn't get to, why not make it somebody, say, in their early twenties, who owned a smartphone?

There was... I can't recall who it is, but there's definitely SOMEBODY in Japan.

Because that would be too easy.

Huh. Fair enough, that's a good point. Still it's not like things aren't difficult enough as it is.

Point: If she's real, how is the mother using her daughter's account? She'd need the password, since the daughter wasn't logged in before this (I was checking, so I could have my OOC explanation up), and if she's real, why would she give it to her?
Therefore, she's a GM/poi, and the "mother" is posting from the same account for continuity's sake, and so we'll know what the hell she's talking about.
Therefore, this = confirmation.
But we should still play along and reply to the mother in Japanese. But... friendly? The daughter got an email because of I PM I sent her. Should I draft the explanation?

If she is a GM construct it would make the plot a little more engaging to have her sneaking behind her mother's back, stealing her mother's smartphone and retrieving the echo for us. And then getting grounded for life, because we're a bunch of bad people who manipulated her. :P
Like NeverSlender said, the GM's can't make things TOO convenient (if getting the echo is her true purpose).

OR she could be real and we're being a bunch of jerks. :o

The confirmation that she's not real is the fact that she's met someone who is not real and both have acknowledged it. If she was real she couldn't meet Gulliver and if she was just a troll there's no way Gulliver would have acknowledged her.

She only acknowledged meeting him after he mentioned it on his blog; it could have been that he meant someone else, and she was trolling.
But either way, I think we can take this as confirmation now (see my post above).

Guys, I REALLY don't think we should actually expect her to get the echo for us. Looking at things as they are, I see a GM construct created not to help us find echoes, but to advance the Gulliver plot. If it's absolutely necessary, she could probably find the echo, but getting her to that point is not what we should be doing right now. If she IS a GM character, she is one just like Tara or the therapist. She is a PART of the echo you want her to find, for crying out loud. Understand what I'm talking about?

...Oh, well that makes a lot more sense than her being our route to finding the echo, that's for sure.

Oh, she's definitely not here to get the echo for us. But she's here for something. It should be fun finding out what.
(and remember, everyone-- this character requires VERY careful handling)
