Okay, guys, who here is reading Gunnerkrigg Court right now?

No, seriously, HOW MUCH FARTHER BACK IN TIME can she POSSIBLY go?!

Jones is totally my favourite in this comic.
They sometimes say, "the place where I am right now was circled on a map for me"... Unfortunately, I kind of suck at orienteering.

All the way. ALL the way.

There are a couple of people in the TVTropes thread who've guessed that she was around at the Big Bang.

I like the idea that she's been around as long as the Earth has. Maybe she was forged in its core somehow.

But yeah. The Gunnerkrigg page thread thing also has Big Bang guesses.

Well she could easily be a personification of the Big Bang, say, alongh the lines of one of Coyote's stories... She might be "Let there be light", or example. Which... which means Jones may in a very perculiar sense the closest thing this story has to the monotheistic god. Or at least an observer. Consider my mind blown.

Well, whatever she is I think Annie either just found out some of the facts, or that's a really TERRIBLE cup of tea. Honestly, I can COMPLETELY understand her current expression.

Oh, and going back on track, Bearmageddon has recently gone out of hiatus. Not much to see yet, but a bear gets punched in the face. :gurt: Also, it's made by the Axe Cop's artist.

And I'm looking for a new webcomic. Anyone knows a good one?

Does anyone read Axis Power Hetalia? It seemed interesting, as it is about anthropomorfied WWII countries, but I can't find any page of the webcomic, manga and/or animation. Could you help me?

Dunno how many of you would be interested in this, but I'd like to plug PMD: Victory Fire.

It starts out as a pretty traditional PMD (Pokemon Mystery Dungeon) title, but quickly pulls in elements from various previous games (spoilers on which ones), in both characters and references. On top of that, the art is fantastic, even though the artist uses MS Paint for line-art.

I personally think it's fantastic, though it may or may not be for your taste.

Going to put this here in case anyone wants to read it: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/W ... TowerOfGod

I linked it to narra on her blog thread, but so far, eli, Mimsy, and I have all read it. It's... pretty freaking awesome. It's a Korean "webtoon" so format is a little different. Instead of strips like normal webcomics, it's one long vertical chain of page sized illustrations going on and on down the page as you scroll. It might sound a little weird, but I had no trouble getting used to it at all. The fan translators, though they have been known to make errors or have names wrong for a bit, always leave informative notes around talking about various words and such, why they did what they did, and giving you a better idea of the intended meaning of the comic it its original language, and overall they have done a great job.

As for the story... there is an enormous tower (Obviously. Look at the name.) which will grant wises if you reach the top, or so the story goes. The plot revolves around and takes place in this tower, as the main cast climbs past each floor, on which they must take complex, and often times sadistic tests to gain the right to pass on to the next level. The comic is hugely plot/character focused. The art style is great, and when there are fights they are awesome. The fights also never take hold of the story, which is good. There are fights where fights are appropriate, and far more time is spent of characters and interaction.

Anyway, if anyone is interested, go ahead and take a look at the TvTropes page. Reading the tropes list itself is probably spoilery, but the main article explains the comic pretty well, and provides a link to the site where you can read the translation.
Normal people are the easiest to manipulate. Too smart and they have an annoying tendency to catch wind of your plans, too dumb and, in the words of a certain pirate, "You can never tell when they are about to do something incredibly...stupid."
