I believe the servers down on their end. none of the other chats work either.

It's back up now, in case anyone wasn't refresh-spamming and would like to know.

Is neatchat down? Because I just got online, and I've connected to here fine, as evidenced by me making this post, but none of the chats will load.

Well, it's normal for me. The report from isup.me also says it's up. So, probably on your end.

Since you're on school, I believe, it may have been blocked by your IT dept. Or just be a minor hiccup.

Well, not much to do besides waiting. The chat session itself is still open. Dilly, me, Qara, Sicon and Victin are the current survivors in there. We haven't been booted so the actual chat servers are fine. It's just the main server that's apparently down, it'll hopefully not take too long to return.

So um in cases like this I set up a back up for us to use. \

I can't connect to that chat, plus noscript hates that site. Is anyone else having troubles?

I can use it, though I'm not planning to. I've got a couple things going on IRL. But I'm sure neatchat will fix itself at some point.

No word on Neatchat's Facebook page. Their ISP is still up and running, so I'll imagine it's either hardware/power failure or some system update/maintenance that's taking long to sort out.

If using Wordpress was good enough that you'd use it again in the future, then I'm pretty sure there is a plugin for chat rooms for it somewhere, but I'm not sure how it is feature-wise.
There are a few other options too, but my brain is fried from trying to find a solution for this and I don't have the relevant links on hand...

There's one option for a backup that's working fairly well.
It's weird, but I'd rather we had a backup that we can use to chat, than not have anything. It's flash only, so that might be an issue. And there's no need to worry about the password box, there's no password to the room. Just leave it blank.

Having the exact same problem, it takes five bloody minutes for the thing to open up and when it does I only stay connected for like, two minutes, changing browsers from IE to google isn't helping. What the HELL is going on?

Hoo boy. When I was having this kind of trouble I tried a bunch of solutions, and none of them really helped. I still get disconnected sometimes, but whatever was going wrong happens less frequently now.
