STOP THE SPAM

Anything goes.

STOP THE SPAM

Men, here we will discuss the campaign to end all campaigns.

The STOP THE SPAM campaign.

It will be crazy, but we need you to save the internet from the spam any way you can.

Ask me any questions here.

...How are you actively going to prevent spam appearing on the forum when it shows up in every forum in the world, just about?

We are going to start with one board that has KNOWN spambots coming from it. I think if we can take the spammed board down and get a new admin for it, maybe a greater amount of the spambots will leave.

We need everybody's help to do this, though.

...I really don't understand what you meant there. Wouldn't it be easier to just improve the captcha?

That I don't think is possible. Ed has already said he has a problem with the Captcha.

I was thinking- take down site with spam bots, take over site, clean site up, and get rid of spam bots by following their trails, and overloading the spam bot machines with spam.

I'm sorry, I just can't take any more spam! IT'S HORRIBLE! I HATE IT WITH THE BLAZE OF FIVE SUNS!!

I also think my mind cracked open at some point.

Ah. Alas.

Wait, take down WHICH site with the spam bots? The site all these bots are comijng from? Do you have any idea HOW MANY of the memebrs on this forum are spambots? There's like, fifty or sixty of them and I doubt they all come from the same website. We really have neither the time nor the manpower to waste on that kind of endeavour.

No, seriously, Finch, I get it's irkesome, but it is not that bad, it's just a few annoying adverts for Ugg boots and pills, the mods will take them down when they getthe chance, just ignore them.

Go the post about the bot posts and look at the website I linked.

I can't help it! As a lurker of 4chan, I can't help but look at whatever is new on the front page...

Mostly the same one, then. I still think it's a waste of time buy hey, you wanna crusade against spambots, less of them would be more than welcome.

Well it's hardly going to make them stop, now is it? Seriously you yelling at them in capslock isn't going to make them go away already.

I see. Thank you for understanding my opinion.
What can I do, then? I don't have the power as Adell or Jack, and they aren't on long enough to do any serious damage.I feel that yelling alerts them to the problem, but maybe I could become some force in the fight against spam bots.

By the way, I like this way we are talking.

Well, spam bots AREannoying as sin >.>

Well you can follow your existing plan but that's about it, mostly we just... have to learn to put up with it and not go crazy every time they post, waste of energy :). What I really wish is that we could get the bots banned, there are over four hundred forum members and I'm willing to bet at least half of them are spambots...

I know right? it makes me feel like a seekrit agent :3

Yeah.

I was thinking that would be good to. Some people becoming moderators against spam bots would do something.

Secret Agents Finch and Scarab, at your service.

I also would like a Get Out frog gif, please. That way I can put it in my reaction faces folder and use against the spam bots.

I think spam on the anti-spam thread should tell you enough on what the spammers think about your endeavors. :D
Also, stop talking like that. It's annoying to resize the page every time.

ALo, someone, please, delete these posts. Make someone else a mod, PLEASE

... Guys.

Adell / Jack are from USA, meaning, no more people from this side of the Timzone problem.

We need people that are here over the time the current mods are not, meaning: Dryu, Scarab, Opt... Or the always online Sicon.
More mods from the PST timezone won't help the spam problem AT ALL.

So yeah, go Dryu!

Dryu wins. No votes needed.
