Right? There's a lot more symbolism than I was expecting. And the next level of her studies? Goodness, I get jitters.

Though, they seemed to make Luna a little mean. I wonder why? They got off pretty well on Nightmare Night.

Yes, but Twilight helped free her. I understand any resentment for Celestia, somewhat, but would she dislike Twilight by proxy? Unfortunately we don't know because the writers seem to forget Luna even exists for most of the previous two seasons.
