I just watched episode one. And the animation is insanely good. Just look at the ART! Ut's liek Scenery Porn, but in relation to EVERYTHING! So far the only ponies that I remember the name just by looking at them are Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy and Spike. But Spike isn't a pony. He's a funny Casanova.

And to think: that's JUST episode one which isn't even close to being the BEST episode :D Wait until you get to the standalones

Th beauty of the animation was what drew me in in the first place too. I was staggered by how much EFFORT they put in.

The animation continues to improve as the series goes on. It's most notable between seasons. For example, compare the What Have I Become? scene in Putting Your Hoof Down to virtually anything from season one, then turn around and compare the animation on "I Wasn't Prepared For This" in The Crystal Empire to that... It's just staggering.

There was also the song scene during the crystal empire episode, when everypony was sort of bobbing their heads as the camera circled the table (no mean feat in adobe flash)? I know that seems a little thing, but I did animation at uni and that is the sort of thing these shows normally didn't even BOTHER with, they'd just have a couple of headmovements and save themselves the time.

The special effects, the animation quality, the gorgeous designs... this show is amazing eyecandy.

At first, I was going to be all "I Wasn't Prepared For This is the song from the Crystal Empire episode", but then I realized you mean the ensemble number. Yeah, and that wasn't the only bit of amazing animation in that two-parter. They really are pushing the boundaries of flash animation. (Perhaps not the boundaries of what it's capable of, but definitely pushing the limits of what is expected from it.)

I should not watch any other episode before my finals are over. But I also shouldn't be reading The Lost Hero, so...

Dear Pyro,

In response to my comments about 9gag, I will give you my honest feelings about it: I think it's somewhat decent, but there are glaring problems.

The 4channer part of me doesn't like 9gag because they claim they made memes like the FUUUUUUUUUU- rage face, Advice Animals, and Bad Luck Brian. Also, the several times I went on there, they seemed to have no humorous content on there, and if it was humorous, it would be childish to me. They also seem to blatantly rip off the Rules of the internet with their own rules (Rules one and two primarily). It just feels lazy, not caring and dedicated like the rules were for 4chan

While I think that 9gag was a good attempt to bring the humor of the internet to the masses of the world, which is a good thing that should happen, I don't think that 9gag did it's very best to hit the full mark of success of a humor site like Cheezburger. It's somewhat like bowling: bowling 290/300 isn't a perfect game, you know, and not giving all of your effort won't make your website stand out. But, beside that, I can see how the site has it's own sense of humor and how that humor is funny to others, like you, Pyro, and I can respect that, but it's just not my cup of tea.

My cup just so happens to be Honey sweetened Lipton tea, 2 sugars.

I'm sorry if I offended you in any way, Pyro. Now can we please go back to Ponies?

Whoever reads that comic knows Satan is a Brony XP
He's one redeeming trait.

I've recently watched the newest episode, Keep Calm and Flutter On. Even though I never thought the episode would ruin Discord as so many people thought, I kept expecting it to happen. But through the whole episode, whenever it seemed they were about to ruin it, it didn't happen. Discord kept being awesome, and in the end, I really liked this episode, not because anything awesome happened as the previous time he appeared, but because of the Character Development he passed through.
I'm back, not that anyone cares.

Overreaction is overreational . I suspect the episode dealing with this will be this one as listed on wikipedia:

"When Twilight casts a spell that switches the Cutie Marks and destinies, the only way to reverse the spell is by writing her own magic."
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_My ... .932013.29)

Which just implies she switches powers with Celestia or Cadence or something, and is in NO way saying she's a permenant alicorn now, whch would mess with their character design models and sounds more like it should be a season finale thing, sooo it's probably just some mix up thing. I wouldn't start yelling from the rooftops and gasping collectively just yet, Finch.

I am convinced something is going on with Twilight in general, but nothing like this. At least not YET ;)
