Seeing we are here, and this thread is about ponies, this strikes me as relevant:

Dana is Rarity.

Oh my god.

Zack as Pinkie Pie is pretty dead on. I just watched Season 1...trying to understand things a little better...

The lip synching is pretty bad, though. It looks like the guy stopped caring like...halfway through.

MLP:FiM release date CONFIRMED to be 11/10/12.
From the Entertainment Weekly article, I found that:

> Season 3 will focus on Twilight Sparkle more
> A certain fan favorite villain will return- in "an awesome way"
> New "catchy, cute" songs
> More Pop-Culture references
> First episodes are two-parters
>Bullying episode confirmed
>Release Date: 11/10/12.

Discuss.

Haven't we technically already had bullying episodes?

What is her talent even supposed to BE anyway? Being shiny and pretty?

Diamond Tiara's talent is clearly the ability to wear diamond tiaras.

Think about it. You don't see any of the other characters with one, do you? Exactly.

Seems kinda niche skill, though...
The symbolism of cutie marks always confused me, I'm never sure exactly HOW symbolic they are. Cheerilee's, for example, is very symbolic and metaphor based whereas Applejack's is a lot more literal.

And all the stuff in The Cutie Pox wasn't niche? :)

I'm of the opinion that cutie mark logic is a "whatever works" system; if the writers and artists think a particular mark fits a particular character, they'll use it.

Yeah probably. Then you have ponies that are artists or writers for example, right? Lots of different types of artists and writers. There are only so many variations you can have on a pencil or paintbrush.

And what if a pony got their cutie mark and had NO IDEA what it meant?

I've figured it out! Trying to hide it is useless! I've already noticed your attempt at mind controlling me to watch this show! Did you seriously think I would miss the sudden urge to watch it every time it comes up in conversation?!

In all seriousness, you guys seem to think it's really good, and that IS convincing me to watch it. I probably would have eventually, but I might need to step up my plans now.

Damn it he's onto us stop the mind controlling delta wave immediately.
Well, its genuinely well written (first series better than the second, but the second was also enjoyable), doesn't treat patronize it's intended audience, and slips in enough pop culture references to keep it interesting for older folks. Also sometimes it's just... delightfully random. So it's worth a shot for you, yeah. Just don't JUST watch the opening two episodes - they're good but quite forumla, and lack some of the later episodes' flair (excluding Nightmare Moon... she was badass.)

That isn't likely to happen. When I sit down to watch something, it gets WATCHED. I usually watch a 24 episode anime series in the space of a day. I'll get a significant chunk of it done in the first session to get a good idea of what it is like.

Yeah I like to do that too, you get a better feel for what you're watching that way. Also it's a great way to spend a day off...

You know, I used to recommend skipping the first two episodes, but they actually do a REALLY good job of introducing the characters. And since so much of the humor is character-based...

I just make a note to say the first two episodes are not as good.

This is a good point. it also sets the tone pretty well for the rest of the series, including the slight bit of ironic fun poking the series tends to do at conventional cute tv series tropes. (Twilight's "Tell me she's not..." when Pinkie starts singing and Pinkie's... well, Pinkie.)

So, if more modern characters were coming across the wall, I'm pretty sure Pinkie Pie would take over the world, and then get depressed by the laws of real physics.

I can barely imagine what would happen to us if the Animaniacs got through...
The voices in my head tell me that we saved the world. However, they also told me that George Clooney's face is on the dollar bill, so... meh. The voices are more fun, anyway.

This assumes that they keep whatever cartoon powers they used to have.

I just keep thinking about what Pinkie Pie would do were she introduced to American politics. "This isn't a party! This is just a bunch of people arguing! That's, like... whatever the OPPOSITE of a party is!"

Can you just imagine her getting the entirety of congress to join her in a rousing sing song before they started?
Call me naive, but I think American politics can ONLY benefit from the inclusion of episodes of My Little Pony before they start all that arguing.
