Can someone help me to install mods? I know more or less how to do it, but I'm not sure on what I should delete to make mods to work, and Winrar is a bit confusing. Also I don't know anything about Forge and whatever

Open Minecraft.jar and Forge on winrar.
Drag everything from the Forge rar into the minecraft jar. Delete the Meta-Inf folder.
Run the game.
Drop the mods into the newly created "mods" folder in .minecraft
That should cover it... Or we might need a TeamViewer so someone can do it for you.

Does Minecraft not like mods a whole lot? I mod every game eventually, and it's usually not that complicated. Like JKA you just drop the mods in the Gamadata subfolder labeled "Base", or if you have a custom game server mod like me, you drop it in the main folder for that. KOTOR was even simpler. Just create a folder called Override and stick it all in that.

It will have mod support. Eventually.
But right now it's a pain to handle Minecraft modding. It wasn't originally written to take mods into account, so the only way is to overwrite game files that are placed inside the executable .jar file.

Regarding the minecraft server, anybody fancy taking on the Ender dragon as a team some time? I'm pretty sure one of us has located a stronghold.

I'd be up for it, but you'd pretty much need to supply me with all the gear, bar pumpkins (unless what I'm growing is melons...could be either, or possibly both. I've forgotten).

As much as I want to do it, I haven't played Minecraft in ages. The server, the game, I really need to get back to playing it.

Also, thanks Pix.
Oh, and Sicon, I think the Mod support must be coming soon. The next big update will be the redstone update (1.5), so the one with the mods must be 1.6, or even 1.7. It shouldn't take more than 4, 5 months, I believe.
EDIT: By the way, how do I take the mods away when I want to in the future?

Well, that's just how Mimsy rolls- with as much over-the-top silliness as he possibly can.
...the hell does the "del" part mean, anyways? Belonging to? Created by? Bequeathed to?

Well, "del" literally means "of the". So I'd suspect it's exactly that-- the Labyrinth(ia) of the Borogove.

I believe the Italian would be "dell'" (pronounced the same way, though). "Del" is Spanish.
The equivalent of "du" in French.

Basically, you delete your .minecraft folder, and re-open Minecraft, giving you a clean slate. And/or you save a copy of the folder each time you add a mod, before you add it, so you can downgrade afterwards. Either way, make sure you save your worlds if you want to keep them.

Throwing a few eyes of ender about down there ought to lead us in the right direction, with any luck.

I'm pretty sure Mimsy can find it again. I'll drag him on later.

Soooo I had a little chat with Dryu via PM the other day about the possibility of instigating a full zombie war in Minecraft.
I figured it could be a fun group activity. The idea would be to start on peaceful mode, give all the players the chance to prepare themselves, and then unleash a full scale zombie war from the heavens. The trick is to survive and end the siege by destroying all the spawners, some of which would be cleverly hidden.
Audio chat would of course, be extremely helpful.
So who here would be up for a zombie war sometime, if we can schedule it?

Well... I need at least half an hour of travel time from my place to the main area, unless I get tp'd by Dryu. And it's been quite a while since I last played so... I don't actually have stuff.
So, yes, pretty much. Count me in.

I'd be up for that sure.
....would the map have to be prepared ahead of time? Because a Survival Skylands map would be amazing for this. It's a floating island in the sky. Nowhere to run, very few places to hide.
