So, after some research and math, it looks like I probably am not going to be a good choice for host. It will work... sort of. Better than it did, but I will only be able to have a few people around at any one time. So, I looked into having it hosted for me. I've got a place that I can host a server for ten people or less (online at one time) in exchange for about 13$ a month. I contacted their support desk and confirmed that I would be able to transfer my existing WTF Labs server to them, so everything is looking good. I hadn't thought of it before, but someone brought up the idea of having other people chip in on the payment. I'm not saying you have to, or that you should, because I'm perfectly capable of doing it myself, but if you are willing to help spread some of the cost around, and we do decide to do this, then I will be glad to accept the help.

Well, I can probably help that cost a little bit, though I don't have a huge budget, 13 dollars doesn't work out as many British pounds.

Are we really demanding this enough to make spending money worth it though? I mean if you guys want to enough I won't stop you, but I just think the "not as good" but free options are right up our alley :3

Well, the issue is that we are officially out of free options. I CAN run a server from home... maybe. It will probably only support four people at a time, and probably won't work very well then, but I CAN do it... if I buy a second CPU for about 15$, and then start paying 10-15+ dollars a month for better internet connection.

In the end, it just makes more sense to either just not have a server, or get it hosted externally.

I've finally done it! The server is LIVE and working well! Anyone who wants to join, find me in the chatbox (I'm always there) and I'll get you in!

As we were having some issues on the Tekkit server that are probably caused by the plugin "NoLagg" I'm currently replacing it with a substitute plugin that is supposed to be infinitely better anyhow, called "Spigot". Hopefully, I didn't botch this up somehow. If I didn't, the server should be back online in a couple minutes.

I am extremely sick of all the server issues, so today marks the beginning of my hopefully continuous manual backing up of the server. If anything happens again, I'll be ready for it.

So, during my work, I ran into a minor problem. I exercised some.... experimental problem solving procedures and dealt with it.

I've done a little more work on the power room, and now all of the wiring is completed, along with the catwalks above the machines. I'll be installing the machines sometime today. If anyone would like to come and join me, let me know.

I believe Dryu's server is down for good by now. Sicon's the one in charge of the current tekkit classic server.

Different launcher, it installs everything for you. But we are on the verge of a switch to Tekkit Lite, possibly quite soon, so you might want to wait before joining. Which, of course, you'll need to talk to Sicon about.
